“the state has too big a role in the economic life of the country.”

No, that was not a quote from a conservative Republican or a radical right winger. Those pearls of wisdom came directly from the mouth of Fidel Castro. Liberals everywhere must be rolling over in their proverbial graves.

Cuba has been held as the Socio-Economic utopia by liberals for so long one has to wonder what the reaction from the left will be. I suppose they could declare Castro insane, or perhaps cite some right wing misinformation campaign as the source of such blasphemy. In the end they just may have to admit they have been wrong about the whole big government thing; Hell, Castro just did.

The following bad news (at least for liberals) comes from MSNBC:

HAVANA — Fidel Castro said Cuba’s economic model no longer works, a U.S.-based journalist reported on Wednesday following interviews with the former president last week.

Really? I would take exception to the implication that it ever worked, at least for the proletariat. I’m sure it worked fine for the ruling elite and their close knit little group but for the rest of Cuba I imagine it was, and is, a nightmare. That may explain the fact that people are willing to sail the 90 miles from Cuba on a rock to get out. But wait….there’s more.

The Libs will not like this. Their Hero is letting them down. Predict a spiking of this story by the MSM ASAP.

That's a big story along with Castro trying to goad the Soviets to nuke the USA.

Yet we got Americans that lionize this thug. I'm sure there is a rush to discredit Jeffrey Goldberg and his interview.
