Have you seen your health insurance rates rise lately? Or did your company just cut benefits? Brace yourself for your “October Surprise”. We heard hundreds of times from Dear Leader how we must have his Government run health system and how it will keep premium rates under control and punish those “wascally insuwance compwanies”. Well friends, it’s time to pull your head out of the ether and begin to live with the government plan that you didn’t want in the first place. Whether it be costs, quality of care, waiting lines, services availability, privacy issues or just the bureaucratic nightmare, the government run health care system...

Our open enrollment period is coming up and already there’s been massive changes. I’ll probably take catastrophic coverage and put more into a Flex Spending Account.

I sure wish my husband’s present employer had an HSA—I used to like the one we had at his previous employer; although I think I read that HSA’s were working too well and Obama did something to screw that up too. Maybe someone out there knows more about it. We’ve never used an FSA because normally we don’t have much in the way of health care costs (knock on wood). I liked the HSA because the money floated with us from year to year and even when he left the job.

Found this from March 2010 about HSA’s—also mentions FSA’s.

We are in the middle of the budgeting process for 2011 and have been instructed by our employee benefits analyst to increase our expected benefit cost by 10.5%. I still recall a conversation at a conference last year where the speaker said, “If you think that health care is expensive now, just wait until it’s “free”.

Your excerpt is highly uninformative. Why would I want to go to your blog?

You’re gonna have to do better than that if you want readership.

There are billions of blogs. Mostly bad ones.

If you’re different, let us know by posting a whole article. Should be one of your better ones. If we like it, we’ll check out your blog.

For now, just consider me a critical observer.

I’ll probably take catastrophic coverage and put more into a Flex Spending Account.

Beginning in January, you can no longer use Flex money to purchase OTC drugs, unless you get a prescription from your doctor. Imagine having to ask your doctor for a prescription for Ibuprofen or Robitussin!
