“God will give me justice"
How is it that some people consider America undeserving of its position in the world? The easy answer is jealousy, or a view that sees America as yet another empire. The key word, however, is ‘yet.’
How can someone answer this without rancor or dismissiveness?
We defend people all over the world, yet we are seen as the aggressors? We come to the defense of allies, yet we are not defended by them? We give more goods, lives, services and ideas to people all over the world than any other country in the world, yet we do not deserve what we give? Where is the logic in that?
The freezing of the ideological world view particular to the United States deepens as the current political agenda advances. Where the values intrinsic to time-honored values of thrift, small ‘r’ republicanism, and the independent bulwark of unalienable rights suffer increased attacks, America appears as a target for destruction by other interests.
Our economy sputters as we export our intellectual capital, jobs, services and business acumen. Our currency is attacked directly. Our economic might is questioned as irrelevant. Our impetus toward success is stifled by the very government we have at nearly very turn. Why?
The International Monetary Fund contribution of the United States is 17% being weighted, has given us a larger say in where monies contributed to the IMF go. Now, the IMF is considering a plan to simply take the money and redistribute it at will. In Spanish, “te invito” means not only that you would like to ask someone to go out to eat with you, but also that you will pay for the meal. Are Americans now to not only invite others to a meal, but also to pay for it as well? How? With what resources?
Our fortunes being depleted as our structural unemployment grows, our lives are increasingly on the line at the individual level. Do we not think it is not only the fighting man and woman who stands for American values and principlas, but also each of ours? Just after September 11th, 2001, a young man was interviewed on the streets of New York who said that his joining up to fight was not “his thing.” He expected others to permit him to pursue his interests over the lives of soldiers. Is this not the quintessential argument of ‘supporting the soldiers but not the wars’? What does that contribute to the mission of America in the world? For that matter, what alternate reality does this muddy, nihilistic world view of gray moral relativism not strike at the heart of freedom as an unalienable right guaranteed to Americans by our laws?
Our sacred honor is at issue if we abandon our post. We are the last bastion of hope for excellence and freedoms. Of religion. Of press. Of speech. Of assembly. Of worship. Of redress. Of privacy. Of the opportunity to live free and succeed. Our post, dear friends is under attack. We are not alone, but we have no choice but to defend it to the last man standing. We shall be victorious when we believe in the depths of who we are that the forces aligned against us shall not overcome our will to be America. We're going to win this fight, with God's help, resolve and the commitment of our fellow patriots.
