Does pregnancy change a pro-abortion extremist's views?
NewsReal ^ | October 6, 2010 | Cassy Fiano

Snipped from If You Can’t Play Tennis, You Aren’t A Person:

Radical femisogynist Jessica Valenti recently gave birth to a little girl. And while I doubt this subject is one she’ll ever broach, I have to say, I would love to know her thoughts. See, I’m pregnant right now. I’ve heard my baby’s heartbeat. I’ve seen the heart beating on an ultrasound. I’ve seen my baby kick its little legs and suck its thumb. I felt my baby move for the first time just a few days ago. I know exactly what I’m carrying, and yes, it’s a person. I could see the eyes and the smile, I could make out a profile with a forehead, nose, and lips. I could see the little fingers and toes. It isn’t some kind of meaningless bunch of tissue inside of me, it’s a person. A little person, yes, but a person.

When Valenti heard her baby’s heart beating, did she think it was just an abortable clump of cells? When she saw her daughter moving in her uterus, was it a fetus or a baby? When she felt her baby kicking, did she have any doubt about what she was carrying? If she had miscarried (and thank goodness she didn’t), would she have thought she lost some fetal tissue or would she have thought she lost her baby? A pregnant woman knows the truth. It’s why so many women feel they need to lie to themselves or avoid an ultrasound before an abortion. If they were to admit the truth to themselves, they wouldn’t be able to live with themselves.

These are questions she’ll probably never answer.

I am very glad that you learned enough to leave that proabortion, pro homosexual agenda, pro porn, pro drugs, weak on national defense political party.

In 1974, it took me about 30 minutes to go from love to laughing at them, but I knew what to ask, and I knew who I was.

I'm glad you left that party, too.

You aren't seeing or acknowledging the difference between the party and the philosophy. And you haven't answered the question about reading John Locke.

You seem stuck in your narrow world-view.

Is there any way you can be convinced to read Montesquieu or Locke, or any of the foundational philosophers of the great experiment we hope is a Free Republic?

It would really be better if people had a clue what a Free Republic really is.

I never left a party, I have never belonged to a party.

How did you confuse my 30 minute conversation in 1974 with the low tax, liberals called libertarians, where I pointed out that I left laughing at them, with joining them?

Is there any way to persuade you to start voting as a conservative, and against the radical leftist social agenda of the whacked out libertarian/leftists?

I know that FR does not support the homosexual agenda, or the abortion agenda, or the open borders agenda, or the weak national defense agenda, of the libertarians.

back to this-
“We’ve all heard stories of women changing their minds about abortion after viewing ultrasounds. Is it different for a dedicated pro-abortion activist like the one the author mentions? “

I would simply say that
this is her wanted child,
the planned 1,
one that isn’t interfering / won’t interfere with her current lifestyle,
and all the other scatology they vomit.

we also know that with out...libertarianism slips into being conservative

When will the Republicans slip into being conservative?

JRandomFreeper, you don't get to call yourself 'libertarian', because ansel12 says you can't.
Kind of like letting muslims decide who is Christian.

Conservatives are more conservative than the Republican party.

The Republican party is far to the right of the proabortion, pro homosexual agenda, pro porn, pro drugs, weak on national defense, libertarian party.

If she’s about 30, then all of this activity with her mother must have occurred in the 80s sometime.

Yes, and Planned Parenthood has gotten 20 times more evil since then!

(Michelle Obama has been on the PP Board for that many years. Now these PP witches sit and dine at the White House.)

Ironic that you keep running into libertarians that are pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, anti-drugs, and strong on defense.

You keep using that word 'libertarian'. I don't think it means what you think it means.

"Ironic that you keep running into libertarians that are pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, anti-drugs, and strong on defense."

I don't recall running into those totally confused people. If someone agrees with conservatives on social issues, national defense and economic policy, then they are conservatives, and would be mocking the libertarian left wing agenda, and their party platform.

I've heard there is an easy way to avoid that short-term memory loss.

Being pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, anti-drugs, and strong on defense is not totally confusing to the rest of us.

As an unknown individual, who knows what oddities you represent, your posts do reveal a childish, hostile, immaturity as you keep posting personal insults in place of platform facts.

Here is the leftists agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.

I'm sure you consider yourself to be a person of honor & veracity.

Look back over this thread. Not once have I posted a personal insult to you (ie: "childish, hostile, immaturity"). Your generous use of personal insult belies your feigned sensitivity to them.

Provide an example of my using personal insult. Finding none, illustrate what you consider honorable to be. I'm betting that an apology is not in your definition.

I am a libertarian, and do not bestow you the power to define my beliefs. That so many of us do not fit your cramped little pidgeon-hole truly irritates you. Although amusing, it is a curious behavior.

I was right about your definition of honor. It says it all about your platform.

you keep posting personal insults

That seemed so important to you a moment ago. What happened? Do the honorable thing.

you are the Libertarian

No, I am a libertarian....and, like most, a very conservative one.

You have to make some kind of sense before someone can respond, you are merely rambling now in an incoherent way, I can’t make sense of it.

Libertarian Party Platform:

I would truly like to have an adult conversation with you.

I now have reason to believe that you are not a person of honor, which would preclude said conversation. Perhaps I am wrong.

Are you a person of honor & veracity? If so, why the lies & personal insults?

I do not conform to your/their stated definition of a Libertarian. This clearly irritates you.

Have you always been a conformist, or demanded it in others?
