Americans may still see the Girl Scouts of America (GSA) as an apolitical group but the group’s leader has acknowledged a marked change in the GSA. “We’re not your mother’s Girl Scout troup,” GSA executive director Marty Evans has said.
“In 1972, they dropped loyalty to their country from their oath in favor of ‘I will do my best to be honest and fair,’” J. C. Willke writes in the October 2010 issue of the Life Issues Connector newsletter. “In 1975 the first Catholic Archdiocese cut off all support for the Girl Scouts because of their sex-ed program.”
“During 1993, the Girl Scouts made ‘God’ optional in the Girl Scout promise.”
“On my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help all people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout law,” the GSA manual still reads but goes on to advise, “When reciting the Girl Scout Promise, it is okay to replace the word God with whatever word your spiritual beliefs dictate.”
“They still sell cookies, but here are some new badges to earn: ‘domestic violence awareness, stress management, girl power and decisions for your life’ (teen pregnancy, etc.),” Willke states. “Let’s note a few examples of these changes:
* “In Pennsylvania, Junior Girl Scouts (age-12) can attend a workshop on puberty designed by Planned Parenthood to earn their ‘becoming a teen’ badge.
* “In Connecticut, Girl Scouts honored a Planned Parenthood official for promoting ‘healthy practices’ in local troops.
* “In Amarillo, TX, Girl Scouts have sponsored Planned Parenthood sex-ed seminars for 4th through 8th graders.”

Planned Parenthood International, earlier this year, said girls should learn to enjoy sex by age 10.
What makes you think it really ended? What about other places?
The nation has gone so insane that nobody should bother having kids (especially girls) unless they can raise them in a commune in near-total isolation from others.

when my girls were in scouts and i was a leader, i was not happy that the organization was disparaging stay-at-home moms. (which i was one, and so were the other leaders in our large troup).
the organization wanted leaders that were “working” women.
my question to them was, who do you think is doing most of the volunteer work? stay-at-home moms.
That wasn’t enough.
Anyone who teaches a 9 year old how to masturbate needs to be shot on sight.

That’s the sex positive agenda as espoused by Planned Parenthood, SEICUS, Kinsey, Reich, and others. Seeking to see everyone sexually active and experimenting at every age. They see orgasm as a birthright to be enjoyed at every age.
They oppose abstinence as unhealthy (NOT because it doesn’t work but because it is contrary to their OWN amoral teaching).
And we are criticized for not allowing homos to get near our Boy Scouts!
My wife and a friend did girl scouts for our girls for a couple years, but the organization was so bad, they just got out.

American Heritage Girls was founded in 1995 in West Chester, Ohio by a group of parents wanting a wholesome program for their daughters. These parents were disillusioned with the increasing secular focus of existing organizations for girls. They wanted a Judeo-Christian focused organization for their daughters and believed that other parents were looking for the same for their daughters. This became the catalyst for the birth of the organization we have come to know as the American Heritage Girls.
It ended in that place....it may have started up someplace else later....I’m sure!
They also have a kind of sex education badge ..depending on the leader abortion could also get an approving nod..
I have one granddaughter in “brownies “ it worries me to death that she will stay with the scouts..
I’ve never heard of the girl scout oath. I just checked some old gs manuals and none of them mention an oath. There is a gs promise and as of the 1975 edition of the Cadette manual, it contained service to God, my country and mankind.
