Coons Sued Three Times in 07 For Retaliating Against Public Employees For Political Views

Funny, I don’t remember hearing about this even once in “the news.” The media is too busy hyperventilating about every word ever uttered by Delaware Republican candidate Christine O’Donnell to do any real investigative reporting on the Democrat candidate Chris Coons.

I decided to do a little digging myself. Luckily,I had the internet…http://www.wboc.com/Global/story.asp?S=6910752&nav=QEMt

(August 2007) WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- A third lawsuit alleges that New Castle County Executive Chris Coons retaliated against county employees because of their political views.

Dennis Parkstone filed the latest lawsuit last month. He claims he was fired after 35 years for a minor violation because he voiced support for Coon’s rival in 2004, Sherry Freebery. However, county spokeswoman Christy Gleason says Parkstone was fired because he sent inappropriate and explicit e-mails on the county’s e-mail servers.

A lawsuit filed by county police Corporal Trinidad Navarro is scheduled to go to trial next month. Navarro alleges he was passed over for a promotion because he supported a police chief appointed by the previous county executive.

And two years ago, Freebery’s brother alleged in lawsuit that he was improperly fired because he supported his sister. He was the general manager of Special Services for the county.

If Coons wins the senate race in Delaware, he should fit right in with the Chicago style politicians who are currently running the country.

After all, Obama wrote the book on political retaliation.

That is the problem isn’t it. The media is pretty much ignoring Coons and in the process giving him a pass. Even here on Free Republic we have posters going over every inch of Christine’s statements and chastising her while giving Coons a pass with no comments.

Ruling on defendant’s (Coon’s) Summary Judgment motion (denied in part, granted in part) against plaintiff, Hispanic police officer, Corporal Trinidad Navarro. Corporal Navarro claimed his non-support of Coons caused him to be passed over for promotion:

The worst thing I heard was during the Bill Bennett show this morning. I think it is twice an hour that they run a local news minute and in Philly the news comes from Fox29, the local Fox Tv affiliate.

This is not the exact wording of what they are running as their headline, but it is something on the order of O’Donnell Gaffes Again and they go on to mention that she questioned Coons comment about the first Amendment in their radio debate, in which SHE was correct. At the end of their story they mention that she explained what she meant. Again she was right, if anyone made a gaffe,it was Coons, but anyone who hears this story gets a reinforcement of the lie that she is an idiot. It’s sickening.

Here is a similar story they are running on their website.
