Election 2010: (Republican) Martinez maintains lead in New Mexico

Three weeks after Rasmussen gave Republican Susana Martinez a nine point lead over Diane Denish, the current Democratic Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico, the Albuquerque Journal has Martinez up by ten points, with just 48 hours until the polls open all across the once Democratic leaning State.

Albuquerque Journal Survey of 1,003 Likely Voters:

Susana Martinez (R) - 52%
Diane Denish (D) - 42%
Undecided/Not sure - 6%

Martinez is the first Hispanic Woman to receive the Gubernatorial Nomination of either major Party in this Country, but you wouldn't know it by looking close at the data within the aforementioned poll: only 37% of New Mexican Hispanics support Martinez's bid for the Governor's Mansion, while over 60% of Anglos in the State support her on the racial flip side.

I only am aware of Martinez (NM) and Brian Sandoval (NV). Not sure about the third one. Could it be that you read three prominent Hispanics? Which, of course, means the 3rd one would be Marco Rubio for US Senate in FL. There is a handful Hispanic candidates for Congress that might win: They’re in FL, TX, and WA.

The newest poll in NM has the NM-1 Republican congressional candidate, Jon Barela, two-points up over the liberal left-wing environutter Martin Heinrich.

NM list PING!

(The NM list is available on my FR homepage for anyone to use. Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
