Obama India trip to cost $200 million/day while real unemployment rate is 17.1%

Barack Obama’s India trip is said to cost $200 million a day while the US’ real unemployment rate is still stuck at 17.1%. According to none other than the Press Trust of India, a top official of the Indian Government confirmed the outlandishly extreme figure that is sure to further confirm that Americans were right for voting out the Democrats on Tuesday as part of a protest vote against Obama’s excesses. However, the fact that Obama is about to embark on a wildly profligate overseas trip that the White House still hasn’t convincingly refuted confirms that Obama hasn’t learned his lesson from Tuesday’s "shellacking." Making matters all the worse is when you juxtapose the super-excessive cost of the India trip with the real problems of Americans stateside, namely the real US unemployment rate, which stands at over 17%. This seems to be another case of Emperor Obama being willfully cold to feeling the real pain of Americans.

What does he care? It isn’t his money.

He has been spending money like it was water since the day he moved in, why stop now?

It would be so cool if we default next week and leave the whole crap load stranded in some third world $hit hole, unable to get credit for refueling..

That is outrageous!

There is no reason in the world for taking a trip a 200 million per day.

None!

We should jam the media boards until this is investigated....and stopped if true.

And no way that anyone’s family should be along for sightseeing. This is Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette opulence, indulgence, narcissism.

No way this shouldn’t be illegal!

Sadly this trip is probably saving us money. He spends more when he’s in Washington.

First, I would like to see who it is that estimated this cost per day and their methodology.

Second, if it is correct, I would like to see it compared to the benefit expected from the trip. For example, if the purpose of the trip is to boost sales of military equipment to India by American companies as has been said, how much sales volume will be required just to recoup the cost of the trip.

I get the feeling this is another boondoggle in which the cost exceeds (by an order of magnitude) the potential benefit.

‎34 warships with be stationed off India's coast including an aircraft carrier. (just in case of an emergency evacuation.) I'm smelling a false-flag op. or he's really just that much of an asshole.

There is no way a trip can cost 200 million per day.

If you can get a plane ticket in first class to Bombay for 3000 bucks, then so can they.

On CNBC this morning, they were disputing the $200,000,000/day price tag. Don’t presidents have to turn in expense accounts like everyone else so we could get the true total of this useless jaunt with 3000 tag-alongs?

This is an unimaginably insenstive, inexplicable and down right idiotic move at this time in our nation's financial crisis. The only statement it makes is one from the "worst case scenario" stack. I speaks of an abysmal disregard for the American people and our current state as well as an unfathomnable arrogance.

I can't imagine anyone, on the left or the right who's head isn't spinning over the opulence of this event.

It's...disgusting to no end.

I wouldn't think so either.

I wondered if this isn't just another setup by the left...giving us an outrageous leak that we'll glom onto and make ourselves look foolish by ranting about it.

Any excuse to place a carrier group in that region is a good excuse.

...”There is no way a trip can cost 200 million per day.

34 Warships, 40 airliners, God only knows how many helicopters which will be dismantled for transport, then reconstructed over there, the renting of the entire Taj Mahal, 3000 people going along, including all the details of the WH Presidential office and staff, the construction of a bomb proof tunnel for the President to walk through to visit a museum, then on to other nations and other sites. This is the story all over the place, debunked only by the MSNBC crowd with tingles running up and down their legs. We need the secrecy from the WH to stop..Then, the truth can come out. Until then, we, the people will just have to look at the stories, the source of information, and make a decision about what is closest to the truth.

I can almost accept this, except for the large group of folks going.

I understand security is a necessity, but would prefer they use military vessels, including using flag-capable ships for stays instead of hotels.

I can also accept the necessity of establishing business ties, as business does this on it’s own routinely, which mitigates this for me. Doing it on taxpayer dime is debatable too, but that is not new for gov either.

The real story to me is, how many of these businesses, that have their CEOs going, were Obama or DNC campaign donors?

Were there any representatives from companies that gave the more to GOP, or is this just another crony payback?

Maybe he is taking some of the unspent stimulus money and setting up a government in exile.

"‎34 warships with be stationed off India's coast including an aircraft carrier. (just in case of an emergency evacuation)." They are going to need 34 warships and an aircraft carrier just to carry Michelle's big fat butt.
