Adding to the historic victory delivered by the American people this week, NBC provided a Friday surprise that gives us the topping on the cake.
MSNBC has suspended star anchor Keith Olbermann following the news that he had donated to three Democratic candidates this election cycle.
I became aware of Keiths political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay, MSNBC president Phil Griffin said in a statement.
Politico reported Friday that Olbermann had donated $2,400 each to Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, and to Kentucky Senate contender Jack Conway. While NBC News policy does not prohibit employees from donating to political candidates, it requires them to obtain prior approval from NBC News executives before doing so.

I love it when they eat their own.
Maybe the next “worst person in the world” will be an ABC exec?

Doesn’t he know that the network offers matching funds if he’d only asked

I’m more surprised than NBC did suspend him. He’s the face of the Obamatons.

Those guys makes millions of $$$ a year, as if this subsenpstion is really going to hurt him without pay....
At least we don't get to see his ugly smug on TV , no wait ( i.e. from Glenn Bech's election next day party ) he doesn't have many viewers after all...
To: Whenifhow
At first I thought this was from the Onion. Who else would call Olberman a “star”.

I don’t think that Olbermann got sacked at all.
Smells like a cheap publicity stunt. If I’m right, look for Olbermann to use this event to get a rep as an activist and a fighter, and get his job back.
And by making this drama a news event, MSNBC can get free publicity on other networks for Keith’s triumphant return in a few weeks.
MSNBC and Olbermann would both love to boost their ratings, they see this kind of staged incident as the ticket to pump up their program and network.

I googled Will Pitt and can’t find him. Must be some kind of freak.

I doubt they would have suspended the arrogant buffoon if his ratings weren’t so anemic. He gave them the excuse they were looking for to dump his demented ass. Management nominated him for the worst talking head in the world award. I hope they made him clean out his desk before they escorted him off the premises.
