Democrat Media Hosting Republican Presidential Debates

Presidential primary politics has already begun to percolate into the media following the midterm elections.  There is now discussion of hosting the first GOP primary debate at the Reagan Library as early as this coming spring.  While many conservatives are upset that we are already contemplating debates before the field of candidates is set, I have another bone to pick concerning this development.

Politico announced yesterday that they will be sponsoring that debate at the Reagan Library along with ...... NBC news!  This is astounding.  We have already ceded over the general election debates to be controlled and orchestrated by the Democrat media.  Do we need to have them moderate our own primary debates as well?  Keep in mind that these media types live in a very different world than we do, and their policy premises and understanding of the political dynamic makes them unqualified to moderate a debate among conservatives.

We should have at least one debate that is moderated by a panel of respected conservative journalists, talk radio figures, and others who would frame the debate in a meaningful way to conservatives. Yet, we are going to let those who garner vociferous antipathy towards conservatives have the opportunity to influence the selection of our leader!  Do we really need moderators who will ask the candidate what they will do to curb global warming?

Are we really going to let them help pick our candidates again?

I despise the leftist media.

I remember during the debates one MSM figure asked (paraphrased) Obama why do you want to raise taxes when history shows it actually drives down the revenue?

He basically answered because it’s not fair certain people have too much money.

Nobody picked up on it. Now they are all acting surprised.

Duh, they ran the 2008 election debates too. All liberal moderators. Final presidential debate was moderated by an Obama supporter who had a Pro-bama book scheduled to be released on January 20, 2009. The financial interest alone should have caused elimination from the job.

At a campaign stop, he was also pressed on some economic questions and confessed that he didn’t know economics so well but assured us that he would hire people smarter than him for those matters. I asked at the time why didn’t we just audition THOSE people for president instead?

The only way to change this is for Conservative media to set up and have debates too.

I am sure it could be done. What would be really novel would be to actually debate.

Too many are set up to let the moderator do the debating.

Is this Steel’s revenge on conservatives? Politico is a Hillary-supporting arm of the Democrat Party and NBC is their mouth piece. Are Republicans INSANE???

You are exactly correct. LEFTIST QUESTIONS arise from a completely different set of assumptions and view of the world. By allowing the LEFTIST frame the discussion, the conservative solutions can be minimized. The candidates can be made to appear odd and eccentric and out of touch.

Who the hell is making these decisions? Can’t the Republican Party learn anything at all?

What do you mean “our primaries”? Ruling Class picks the republican liberal for us. Like here in California.

Barack Obama flat out refused to participate in a Fox News debate.

I think there may have been a talk radio sponsored debate at a historically black college some Republican candidates went to (not the ones leading in the 2008 campaign though).

Treat a debate like a jury pool. BOTH parties get to offer up names for the panel of moderators. BOTH parties get to knock away at some of the offerings.

Otherwise Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert WILL be moderating a SeeBS/MTV/Comedy Central/Nick debate in 2012.

I think if some of these states are going to front load the primaries, they should be venturing ALL of their election primaries on the same day, not running presidential primary in February and state offices in May.

It also permits them to frame the "concerns" of the public.

Let me guess...Tom Brokaw or Gwen Ifill will be the “moderator.”

The article says Democrat media hosting republican presidential debates.

These are Primary debates between republicans.

Your idea as to the national debates between the chose candidates is about all that can be done.

I smell the distinct, acrid smell of Romney money behind the Reagan Library debate. It smells like RINO gas.
