Fox News pays Sarah Palin as a contributor to their network. And apparently to be “fair and balanced,” they also pay Judith Miller and Liz Trotta to make fun of Sarah Palin:
UPDATE: Here’s what was said:
LIZ TROTTA: “Alessandra Stanley [of the New York Times] had the best line [in her Nov. 11 review]. She said the new [Palin TLC] show was like ‘The Sound of Music’ without the Nazis, without the romance and without the music.”
JUDITH MILLER (laughing): ”Oh, the Washington Post hated it, too . . . [Post TV critic Hank Steuver] said [Palin has] the kind of sound of a voice when warning you to heed the bears – it would actually scare the bears. . . . He said you just get the sense that all she’s waiting for when she’s looking at this great outdoors is to get back to her SUV for enough bars to send out her latest twitter about the beauty of the environment.”
OK, that’s what was said during the commercial break. Here’s what was said when the show came back on the air:
SCOTT: She has gotten a lot of heat for that new show. Some lefty groups, Ellis, are pushing Discovery Communications to pull the plug. How about at that for freedom of speech?
[ELLIS] HENICAN: Strategic misstep on the part of the lefty groups, as you mentioned. Let the woman talk. Believe me, the more she talks, the better off they are.
(LAUGHTER)
[JON] SCOTT: Interesting that some of these folks who don’t like her — I mean, she puts eyeballs in front of television sets, right?
MILLER: Yeah, and she got a network to pay her a million dollars per episode to do this. But I found the most interesting review to come from Karl Rove, who is not exactly a left wing lunatic, who said this is not going to advance her presidential prospects. This doesn’t make her look presidential. I’d listen to Karl.
TROTTA: And the numbers keep going down every time she makes appearance, her popularity numbers. You have to keep track of those. The more you see her, the less you like her. And overexposure is something the Democrats have to pray for.
SCOTT: So you think that –
TROTTA: Plus the fact that they can bank on the timidity of most men, who are so absolutely spooked by feminism that they’re afraid to criticize her.
HENICAN: Give her something on the Cartoon Network
Once elected the Media will fawn all over her -— She should ignore them only talk to Fox News. Only give interviews to the Wall Street Journal etc...
I think that is excellent advice. Hope her advisors listen.
I have been thinking about your post all afternoon. What a dreadful thing to say about that precious angel. This is just unforgivable.
Have you ever read Dale Evans’ book Angel Unaware? I read it when I was young..About eight years ago, my cousin and his wife had a child with Downs Syndrome and my mother asked me if I could find Evans’ book for my Aunt. I ordered several copies from Amazon and reread it. What a wonderful book about Dale and Roy’s daughter Robin. What a blessing that child was to the family. It is beautifully written.
Sadly I havea friend in NY that said almost the same exact thing....we didn’t talk for over a year.
I'm waitng to se eBrett’s interview with her tonight. to be fair Gov Palin has been treated with respect on FBN not so much foxnews. Foxnews is part of the establishment GOP never forget that.
Trotta is after the “shock factor” and it doesn’t matter to her if it’s achieved at the sake of a child...or even one of her own family members I’m sure. Look at those on MSM..they too have no regard for any other human beings unless they advance their personal agenda for fame and money. The “shock factor” sells news to those with twisted minds, and there are more and more of these in our country than ever before.
It starts at the top...Obama and his administration have set the tone....the news people simply have no moral behavior limits whatsoever and follow suit. They are speaking what Obama cannot for the office he holds.
It’s going to get worse than this country has seen before in elections....nasty will not even come close to describing the filth we will see dished out..I have no doubt and as much as possible trying to prepare myself for that. Backs of iron is what we need Sarah...and bended knees for the strength to endure.

It plain and simply rooted in jealousy. Look Sarah has it all and they know it....plus she's free to persue whatever she wants....she has this nation's stage and they cannot ever attain this. Not to mention none of the democratic woman can even begin to hold a candle to Palin...this they also know. Jealousey is wicked. If you noted both those woman did all the talking....and the men were not comfortable with it...the guys all twisted in their chairs....what we saw was women attacking women...the same they have for centuries.

Oh, I agree they're foolish twits, it's just that I can't see where it's news when Ellis Henican and Judith Miller act like empty-headed twits. It's like reporting that the sun came up in the morning.
