Riehl World View ^ | 11/20/2010 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 11/20/2010 4:38:37 PM PST by Lakeshark

"Barbara Bush Should Shut Up," says Dan Riehl. Oh no. Not our Bar. Painful to acknowledge, but after a lifetime of embracing the former first lady's persona of outspoken authenticity, we have to admit she no longer speaks to us. See below for details. Above, GHWB and Barbara in a Larry King interview that will air Monday.

Yeah, that ‘adopted son’ stuff is really over the top. BC slammed GWB and still takes pot shots at him. I don’t understand the 41’s POV.

She’s the only one. You’re right about that, and she doesn;t wear it it “just for show.” She is a true American patriot.

Oh I know why the establishment does it. what I can’t figure out is how stupid does a person have to be to come on a board and repeat their loyal maters talking points. The establishment GOp has lied to them for decades and yet they fall for the crap everytime.

I mean come on the haters think talking about her voice, her clothes, her kids, is grounds for a debate?

I for one am just tired of even giving these stupid people the time of day. their posts sound a child wailing just to hear themselves wail. I really can not believe people are that stupid and therefore have come to the conclusion most are simply trolls trying to start crap.

Because to Bush and clinton its all a game. they are grea tfriends...they have to say this stuff to keep the stupid voters in line. So they talk a good game then meet afterewards for drinks.

One of the reasons they fear Palin is because “she doesn’t appear to be in on the game” she actually believes in what she is saying.

and therefore a Palin POTUS would make the two sides not be friends behind the curtain and wouold make the GOP live up to its talking points.

BTTT

Corrupt bastards and Sarah Palin has NO ties to Washington, DC and in fact she’s hostile to it and the way OUR business is conducted -— the ole boys network and K Street.

Sarah Palin also has no use for the lamestream media and she proved that she doesn’t try to curry favor with cocktail set on the Beltway either. Pundits be damned.

Do not Palin supporters say negative things about other candidates? Isn’t turnabout fair play? And to be honest, Sarah is quite adept herself at zinging others. And another thing, who the hell even watches Larry King? lol

Also, the Bushes dissing Sarah Palin isn’t exactly a bad thing considering their popularity in the country. Think of it as resume enhancement.

Hi there! BTW I don’t know if anyone watched Geraldo tonight, but FR was mentioned in depth during the first twenty minutes over our voting for Bristol on DWTS. They actually did an investigation to make certain there wasn’t a conspiracy between us voting multiple times for Bristol and the Tea Party.

I said her voice was annoying but that wouldn't stop me from voting for her. We pick apart every politician on this site...and so excuse me if I didn't get the memo that Palin is off limits. She has an annoying, grating voice. Believe me, I am not the only one who notices this. And I've been really listening to her now..and she doesn't really say anything new. However, I fully expect that will change. Right now she speaks in platitudes. She must start speaking in specifics. You may not like it, but the best person does not win elections...the best candidate does. So unless she addresses some of these issues, I don't believe she could win. But then again, I DON'T THINK SHE IS GOING TO RUN.

You all must remember, we are not the average voter. You have to think about what the average voter looks for and what they expect to hear...and not hear. Candidates spend millions of dollars to learn that. For people who are so happy with her, you sure get angry really quickly! I don't understand why. She can take what's thrown at her..why can't you?

“On a personal level, Barbara IS a good lady, LJ. But my problem is that she takes a shot at Palin in a way she never would at the Obamas or Clintons. “

That makes her a jealous shrew, not a “good lady”. She is following the implosion template of Helen Thomas.

Palin wins when the hags throw in against her. Who knows if she’ll run, but you can be sure she’ll respond to Barbara Bush with grace and charm that neither of the Bush former first “ladies” deserve. Barbara/George Washington will just get more bitter and senile.

Thank goodness for Sarah Palin, or else we’d never get the glimpse of these idiot wives of former presidents.

ROFL...yeah the avg voter is waiting on the sea tof their pants for her white papers. she has liad out detailed policy positions maybe if you would stop worrying about her voice and read her pwritings, books, and watch her interviews you would stop using the lefty/RINO talking point about “platitudes”.

I love it how when the “concerned” folks that have sprouted the same crap for 2 years like a broken record nonstop are confronted with their stupid insane drival they get all holier than thou and talk about being off limits.

We heard you you don’t like her voice. We heard it for two years. You do not like her voice. we get it. You would rather give the country to the Mitts and Obamas of the world because you don’t like her voice or her child rearing or her dress, or her glasses. We get it. We understand how shallow you are and where you place your priorities.

I personally don’t like Mitt’s hair. Do you hear me posting about it for two years? I just wonder if those posting about her voice for two years understand how utterly stupid they sound to the rest of people.

they brought their big gun out. Mrs bush has been one of the most respected of the old guard. they wanted to use Mrs. bush like the dems wanted to use Michelle Obama during the campaign. they figured unlike ROve the Tea party would be loath to counterattack Mrs. bush. they have been disabused of that notion.

hopefully now the slime and smears will stop and the establishment will start treating Gov Palin with the respect and dignity she has earned on the national stage.

more likely we have seen the end of this phase of the attack. Like “she lost us the senate” attack this one is dying stillborn.

i eagerly await their next attack theme.

Apparently, it's not stupid to you because you're postively frantic about it.

I haven't been talking about her voice for two years. It's a new thing for me. It's because she's everywhere and I've noticed it more.

Can you tell me why it has to be Palin or nobody? There are others and they will emerge. If it turns out to be Palin, I'll support her. I'll bet my last dollar it won't be.

You'd better pace yourself, my friend...it's going to be a long two years!

No, I still disagree. I place Barbara Bush the grandma in the clueless camp. She leans strongly liberal, but she doesn’t understand how radical and ruthless the left has become. Yes, she should, but some people, esp. lib women, refuse to see it.
Now Laura, on the other hand, is a snotty lib who has raised two trashy daughters, and is partially responsible for W. becoming a mediocre to lousy President. I have no use for her. You can bet that she is still welcome at elite cocktail parties! Bob

frantic? not in the least just tired of the stupidity.

you say there are others out there? none that have governed as a Reagan conservative for the last 20 years and have the stellar results Palin has. None that have fought Obama using the Reagan principles since day one to refute Obama’s policies. None that have been vetted to a inch of her life and no skeletons found. none that openly loves her country and the ideals on which it stands. none that has the ready ability to draw millions into the process. None with the ready made following of grassroots that she has. None that will be able to compete with Obama toe to toe for media attention and to be able to drive the narrative during the election.

all of which i guess we should disregard because of her freaking voice.

I’m just going to say this one more time. In politics, EVERYTHING MATTERS. Yes, voice matters. I took an advance training class with a well respected Republican political consultant last week (He won 39 out of 42 of the races he worked on this November). Voice MATTERS. The way you speak MATTERS. It could mean someone votes for you or not. It’s something that can be worked on. Anyone who knows anything about political campaigns knows this. I’m not saying it as a way of telling you this is why I won’t vote for her...I’m telling you that if it bothers me it bothers others and others will tune her out JUST FOR THAT. Running for office is a science. You do everything in your power to get an “edge.” And she has to work on that voice. I’ll say this again, the best person does not win elections, the best candidate does. The voice thing MATTERS. Especially with women.
