President Obama traveled to Afghanistan a couple of days ago but he did not meet Afghan President Karzai. Evidently there was a severe wind storm that didn't allow the President to fly by helicopter to meet with the leader of that country. There was a plan B, namely a video conference, but that wasn't done either. When asked by reporters why, a spokesperson from the White House mumbled something and then walked away. Evidently they did talk on the phone, local call, which saved the White House a bundle on toll charges.
I know what you're thinking and I want you to knock that off, it was not, repeat NOT because Hamid Karzai was angry that the leaked American cables made him look weak and corrupt. Yes, I too heard the rumor that during Obama's visit Karzai was locked in his bedroom sulking with a fifth of scotch, clutching a photograph of Dick Cheney and playing "The way we were" over and over on his I-pod. Stop being a trouble maker, it's not true. The relationship between Washington and Kabul is just peachy.
