Have you ever stopped to think for just a moment WHO or WHAT exactly is a "Tea Party".
The Republican Party "godhead" <- Small "g" would have YOU to believe that the "Tea Party" is under their control and will/does serve as the grassroots arm Republican Party. The more I get involved in the "Tea Party" movement the more I realize the REAL power of the Tea Party movement is in the LOCAL INDEPENDENT groups not some National "Tea Party" organizaing/steering committee.
This is KEY to understanding why it is so important that the REAL Tea Party folks (100s if not 1000s of independent groups some small (maybe 10 or less members) and some quite large and GOOOH join forces and and take on the Republican Party "godhead".
As we look forward to 2012 I am cautiously optimistic that we be able to field a TRUE grassroots candidate in each and every one on the 435 congressional districts and replace all 435 members of the U.S. House in 2012!
I know that I am preaching to the choir here on FR so I will refrain from going into the details.
The purpose of this thread is to ask my fellow FReepers who are also members of a local "Tea Party" group if they have already joined GOOOH.
Let's get GOOOHing
http://www.GOOOH.com
Passing it on
So you think that Tea Partiers should spent their time and energy replacing solid conservatives like Michelle Bachman instead of concentrating on getting rid of liberals and RINOs.
Truly idiotic. But we've come to expect that from you lately, sad to say.
dirtboy,
I expected you to join this thread.. welcome...
Give me a good reason why I would want to replace my congressman, Steve King. Count me out.
Are you saying that no other person in your entire district is qualified to serve?
being a member of the U.S. House of Representatives should not be a career.. self-imposed term limits will GOOOH a long way to fixing the problem.. no matter how “good” a congressman is there is always someone just as good or better that can serve a term or 2 at the most.
Remember the HOUSE holds the PURSE STRINGS of the U.S
TEA Party.
It is fundamental.
The establishment seems more capable of trying to co-opt the Tea Party power and its success than they are at responding to democrats creaming them with rhetoric in the press, out maneuvering them procedurally in Congress and fracturing the entire Republican party by way of manufactured chaos and disarray, as Malkin alluded to.
Rush is right. We have no long term strategists. The dems kick our butt tactically in procedural warfare.
The Stupid Party.
We can’t seem to put together a War Room capable of responding to the mouth of Harry Reid, nevermind a mindset to combat these usurpers hand to hand on the floor of Congress, all the way to and through the campaign of 2012. Republicans, instead, find it easier to cave to the dems while they borrow lines from the Tea Party and imply solidarity with the Tea Party and throw their weight around verbally to the media, because of OUR victory in the November election, but they NEVER battle back.
Because if he's that good, we need him in the senate? If there's a conservative up-and-comer in your district fit for congressman duty, that's a plausible strategy.
There are some Republicans standing up to the Beltway nonsense - but GOOOH would toss them out along with the RINOs and liberals. That IMO is stupid and a waste of effort and resources.
Like walking your pit bull with a 8 pound fishing line for a leash. You can pretend you control it until you disagree about which way to go.
BTTT
No one except me and I’m getting too old. Even I could not possibly replace King. This guy is a real treasure and you should be grateful he’s there.
We need King around as long as we can keep him.
To rotate everyone every two years is no long-term viable strategy. Actually, there was very good progress this year and I'd say just continue what we're doing. Let's take this back incrementally.
PING.
When I fried my computer I lost that wonderful description of the movement that you posted a year or so ago. The one were you spoke of the movement being “energy” and not needful of leaders.
Any chance you have that handy?
If the GOP goes RINO over the next two years, the TEA party, as a collection of many millions of free individuals will clarify that issue to the congressional RINOs in 2012. I just hope they know it in DC.
Hey David,
How much does it cost to join GOOOH to run for office under their name?
If I join and recruit people, do I get residual payments for anyone I recruit to GOOOH?
...also, from what I understand, anyone of any political stripe can join GOOOH, even a communist or die-hard liberal; is this true?
Is it really all about the process, not the principle?
In many respects the fact that the TEA Party does not have a national organization is one of its strengths. The media does not have a defined organization / person to demonize. It drives them absolutely crazy! All they can do is try to demonize candidates that claim Party affiliation. If they do, and the candidates proves to be a “TEA Party” approved candidate; then money flows into that person from around the country. The Press are beside themselves: If they don’t demonize the candidate he may win; if they do, he receive vast amounts of funds and may still win.
I consider myself a TEA Party member by not giving my funds to the RNC, but by funding solid conservatives across the country. I no longer trust the RNC to use my money wisely.
The left is completely impotent because they can not focus on a single person and hammer them into submission.
