Trying to stay awake until 1:32am when it starts. Don’t think I’ll make until 3am to see the full eclipse.

Beautiful, clear moonrise here (northwestern North Carolina) but patchy clouds now. Pretty thin, so it’ll still be visible. Might even give a reddish glow to them, which would be cool looking, if slightly eerie.

San Jose CA. After days of rain, fog and clouds it’s a clear, crisp night with wispy clouds. Hoping to stay up for the beginning at least.

It is supposed to be around 9:40 PST - we have clear sky in western WA and can see the moon perfectly, but nothing is happening.

It was like that here too, a ring around the moon--my 10 y/o called it a werewolf moon, LOL. I remember an old Dan Fogelberg song (one of my favorites) called "In the Passage" when I see this kind of moon:

I saw the huge halo around the moon last night. (It's morning in my part of the world now.)

Because it's daytime, we don't get to see the eclipse. We looked up the viewing areas yesterday and saw that we were completely out of it.

I hope y'all get to see it. I wonder if it will be a "blood moon?"

Yep. I was home for 24 glorious days that went by at the speed of light. :)

I've seen a couple of those blood moons before and they are spectacular. I think the last one I saw was in Houston around '98 or '99...somewhere around then. And I'm pretty sure it was summertime.

Was wondering if anyone would comment. Just went outside and the moon is at 12 o’clock and kicka$$ bright tonight, must be really good atmospherics here.
