Personally, I’d rather go to a good Polish or Italian wedding down at the local Fire Hall than this overblown extravaganza. I bet these Royals won’t even have any pigs in the blanket, rigatoni or grandma Liz’s home made pizzelles. ;~))

President Reagan was busy that day. Executive Order 12315 -- Amendments to the Manual for Courts-Martial, United States, 1969 (Revised Edition) and Remarks and Question-and-Answer Session With Reporters Following Congressional Action on Federal Tax Reduction Legislation .

But Nancy was there, so I'm going to guess he was invited.

Good for our British Friends in giving Imam Oamah & UK Hater the middle-finger!

“I don’t think this ‘snub’ bothers the First couple in the slightest.”

Oh, don’t kid yourself. It bothers them. Just like the drubbing in November “didn’t bother him”. Ha! In a pig’s eye! (Which he couldn’t conceal, but tried at first.)

I would rather get a massage with a cheese grater than go to that wedding.

"Unfortunately, BO won’t only not be offended, he’s probably glad.

True, but won't he just hate every media outlet saying he has been snubbed! It's all about Barry.

This is good news but I can’t wait until 2012.

Clampets, for sure.

Obama was delighted to get the item from the Gannet because it was a sister of the Resolute. That explains why there are so many pictures of Barry with his feet all over the Resolute desk. I wonder if pictures of BoBo with his number fourteens all over that desk didn’t further enrage the Royal family.

The Resolute desk was a gift from Queen Victory to President Pierce. It bears a plate with, in part, the following:

H.M.S Resolute ...

The ship was purchased, fitted out and sent to England as a gift to HER MAJESTY QUEEN VICTORIA by the PRESIDENT AND PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES as a token of goodwill & friendship. This table was made from her timbers when she was broken up, and is presented by the QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN to the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES as a memorial of the courtesy and loving kindness which dictated the offer of the gift of the RESOLUTE.

Given that plate and Obama’s obvious dislike for Great Britain, I have to wonder why he put it back in the Oval office. This is truly a classless person.

Nancy went to the last big royal wedding, but Ronaldus Magnus did not. He was recovering from an assignation attempt.

Since Barack Obama is a British Subject by birth, maybe there is some kind of protocoligorical reason why he cannot be invited to the Royal Wedding...

The Clampetts might have been somewhat uncultured, but not deliberately rude to our closest ally. We'd have been far better off with the Clampetts in the WH.

Sorry 'bout sticking a needle into the glee, but the upcoming wedding isn't like Charles and Diana's. Prince William isn't the heir to the throne, so it doesn't count as a state wedding. Price Charles' nuptuals did because he was (and still is) the Crown Prince. 100 of the invites are being distributed by ballot; that is not done for a state wedding.

In this case, excluding relatives and any reciprocation in the foreign-royal circuit, protocol dictates giving the nod to ordinary subjects - giving them the treat of a lifetime. President Obama doesn't exactly count as a drinking buddy of Prince William - they'll get invites no matter what - and Michelle isn't one of Kate Middleton's BFFs, so she doesn't qualify on the old-friend count either.

As for the treat-of-a-lifetime slot, I think it would me more of a snub for the Obamas to have been invited than not.

Yes, and protocoligorical is a word.

If it's good enough for William Daniels playing John Adams, it's good enough for me!

I believe they also broke protocol by touching the Queen or something ...But I think the reporter is onto something... the young prince and his bride, to be, were probably afraid the US first couple would give them a salad spinner as a wedding gift

I am so embarrassed for our country

Yes, Reagan was invited, but he was not well enough to go following the assassination attempt, so Nancy went alone.
