The unemployment numbers around the United States are not getting better. Businesses are not creating jobs, and unemployment benefits are running out for many. How do we maintain an economy when the 15.1 million run out of unemployment and still can't find jobs? That will mean billions of dollars no longer circulating in the economy.

I guess this explains why all the talking “media” heads are saying that people are out there spending for Christmas like there is no tomorrow. First time this century that people are spending every dime they have to their name, according to Ken and Barbie. Weird.

Oooooh, I know! I know! Call on me!
What we do is, we kick out the fifteen million illegal immigrants who are here and give their jobs to Americans. Is that it? Did I get it right? Do I get a gold star now?

"Businesses are not creating jobs, and unemployment benefits are running out for many."I know lots of folks that have run out a long time ago, now the EPA is trying to put the rest of us out of work. It's pretty depressing and I have a job. For now anyway.

I get sick of the lies about what a great economy it is. Two years ago my son lost his house and his truck when the construction industry went belly up in the CA central valley. Two weeks ago, my son in law was layed off when his heavy construction employer downsized.

My employer cut our hours to 32 per week and layed one of the six employees off. This takes effect in January.

My Company has 8 Captains. There are 2 of us still working.

yeah, I don’t understand that either, nor do I believe it. I heard the same thing last holiday season the week before Christmas, and then when the numbers came in, they weren’t so rosy.

I get sick of the lies about what a great economy it is.
Inflation, too, is creeping to the economy. SuperInflation is coming soon.
Product content downsizing continues.
I recently bought large container of coffee at Walmart. I noticed when I got home that the container was somewhat smaller than one I had previously purchased, yet the prices were comparable.
In the 70s, a large container of coffee was typically 3-lbs or 48-oz. Over the years, the container has declined in size. The last major shrinkage brought it to 34.5 oz. The most recent container I purchased was down to 27.8 oz.
Packagers reduce the content while making the package appear to be the same size, thus creating stealth inflation, because they tend to keep the price as the same level as the previous package size.

Unemployment is really probably north of 40 Million plus.

There are also tons of small businesses and salespeople making nothing who are not counted in the numbers.
Right now I am paying bills and not much else. Its horrible out there and when I hear the govt lie, and about govt employees crying, my blood boils like you have no idea.

Unless you work for wall street, govt, or a corp who gets endless govt contracts, you have no idea how bad it is out there.

Very true. The Government lies on the employment, GDP and everything else it's unreal.
We are now in the third year of a horrible Recession/Depression and I cannot understand where the MSM keeps getting these idiot over the top, Rosy Retail Numbers.
People are broke, trying to save money, etc. and they are talking about Retail numbers on the range of those in 2006 before things went south.
By the time the real numbers come out in January it will be a different story.
Also so many small business’ have gone out and those sales had to go somewhere.
Add to that collapsing margins, the retailers have had to heavily discount to get sales but that isn't going to translate into profits.
All in all gloom.

I read about a barter network that received 50 million in stimulus funds that was "hiring". I thought it was an alternative currency or barter network going national needing IT people or marketers. Their "jobs" were commission based sales positions.
It's going to fail; if the value of barter is to trade things because you don't have money, who has the sign up fee? And no one will sign up for $269 to join a barter network when craigslist and local bulletin boards are free.

“The unemployment numbers around the United States are not getting better. Businesses are not creating jobs, and unemployment benefits are running out for many.”
1. No one in their right mind is going to invest in economic growth as long as Marxists are in charge of the economy.
2. Permanent unemployment forms a new entitlement group deliberately created as dependents of government handouts and simply become one more group whose votes are bought with tax money paid by those who do actually work. (Unfortunately, sooner or later you run out of other people’s money to give away. Particularly when too many people figure out that you don’t actually need to work to get fed, clothed, housed, and entertained.)
