Cadillac also going small – Urban Luxury

The luxury automobile maker, Cadillac has noted the potential of small cars and has now come out with a concept car for urban driving. It will still be a spewing with luxury from all angles, including scissor doors and a very spacious cabin. Which brings me to one very troublesome fact - the small Cadillac isn’t very small.

In fact it is only a couple of inches shorter than a sedan! As far as specifications go, the small Cadillac, Urban Luxury, will have a 1.0 litre petrol engine with 3 cylinders and an electric motor. It will be equipped with stop-start and regenerative braking and a massive grille at the front, giving it a nice wide grin, which also indicates the mood of Cadillac – a perpetual pride in its conceptions.

Just another 2nd-generation hybrid, with an expensive name-plate. Toyota has finally realized the 1-Liter engine is too small, even with the new battery, for it’s hybrids.

Was watching a Brit show called “Wheeler Dealer” last night on the HD Theatre channel. Guy buys nice cars for under £4,000 and resells them for a profit. He bought an 80’s BMW 635csi for just over £2,000 & had his mechanic fix it up, got a rusted out donor vehicle and replaced the cloth seats with leather from the rust bucket. Man, was that a nice ride! And a lot less than this Cadillac!

Those are beautiful cars, but OMG, should they decide to turn on you, maintenance wise, you are in for a world of pain. I had a friend who bought a used one and it gave him zero problems...but you just know that if things started to go south you’d be putting multiple children thru college with the repairs!
