Do you remember anything like this happening at the memorial for the victims of the Virginia Tech shooting? Nope. Columbine? The Amish West Nickel Mines School shooting? Nope.
Sure wish my great grandmother had grabbed one of these when she went to Gettysburg...

The names of the shooting victims were on the backs of the “together we thrive” t-shirts???? Say it ain’t so!
I’m pretty sure the names of the victims were NOT on the backs... you can see from photos that the backs look blank. I was making an exaggerated point by asking the question.

I’m giving the President the HUGE benefit of the doubt here when I suggest that maybe it was mentioned to him that Rep. Giffords opened her eyes after he left, and he (or possibly a speechwriter) took that and ran with it.

From the clips I saw, the problem was that Obama didn't use a somber tone, he turned it into a campaign rally with his tone of voice. That, plus he couldn't resist the blame game.

Well, I give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I’d be thrilled and excited if I heard someone in Giffords condition had opened her eye and I would want to tell everyone. It’s always exciting when you see someone with that kind of injury come back so fast and so well.

I watched a part of the circus, and believe me, it was in pep-rally mode long before the President stood up to speak.
That said, it surely didn’t elevate the atmosphere of the gathering to have had a logo designed and slapped on tee shirts for all the cheerleaders, excuse me, the mourners, so that the whole event could be branded as the first campaign rally of 2012.
Did this whole thing have to be turned into a campaign rally? Of course. The kenyan doesn’t go anywhere unless it is an obama friendly venue. Why was a “memorial” held at a college campus anyway? When you add in the t shirts, ok then this was a campaign stop to showcase his wonderfullness. Don’t forget his handlers pulled off a huge con on this country by getting an inexperienced marxist thug on the ballot and then in the white house. They still have all his life records buttoned up and continue to present him as the greatest president ever. obama mentioned the opening of the eyes 4 times as a subtle message of his healing powers.
This whole thing was hijacked by the obama team to shore up his credibility after the thrashing his party took in November. And they used this opportunity to take another crack at Sarah Palin. (deep down she really scares them)Really sick that they will use an incident like this to prop up obama.
I remember reading about someone who had an audience with Pope Pius XII and admitted he had always had a secret wish to be canonized by the pope. The pope told him, "You have to be dead to be canonized. But if you want to pretend to be dead, I can pretend to canonize you."

What really frustrating is that the obama team used this for their own benefit. And there are way too many people in this country that assume that just because he has the word president in front of him that he will act presidential. Obama is a community organizer. Nothing more. All he and his team know to do is self promote and destroy their political enemies. I just read an article in the American spectator that spewed a bunch of garbage that Obama hit the bullseye in his speech and was actually presidential. What a pant load. This shooting gave them the opportunity to try to portray obama as the national healer, trash Arizona, go after the first and second ammendment and blame Palin all in one fell swoop. And they pulled it all off with souvenier t shirts to top it all off.

A better investigator that I would find out where these t-shirts came from, and whose closet they’d been in. They were too generic to have printed (super-quickly) in time for the “rally”.
