“South America in danger of tyranny boot of Islam.”

The 70+% of American Jews, RINO Catholics, African - Americans and assorted other idiots voted for this in 2008. These people hate Palin and love Obama.

Does God control the weather?

The link then goes to a page that attempts to attribute Divine Powers to Satan by eisegeting and mishandling passages in Job. Read Mark 4:35-41 where our LORD calms the seas...

And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another "Who can this be, that even the wind and sea obey Him!"

Another fine example of Premillennial Dysfunctionalists who can't tell the difference between Satan and our LORD. (Isa 29:6) and with ease and pleasure grant Satan powers that belong to God alone.

(Cinciella, I would be interested in knowing how Futurists have an exclusive franchise on accurate biblical interpretation based on this thread and accompanying links.)

So what did Australia do wrong?

Or the town of Greensburg, Kansas a few years ago?

“The link then goes to a page that attempts to attribute Divine Powers to Satan...”

Wrong!

No where in that article does the author attempt to attribute God’s power to Satan.

That is a total nonsense.

On the contrary, the entire article is all about God’s sovereign control over the powerful forces of nature that He created.

And how He uses those powers for His purposes.

The author does not misinterpret Job either.

In between reading all those “dispy” books in your massive library, maybe you could take a break and watch this man speak about just this very thing. Someone posted this link on another thread. He’s done his homework. I think it’s worth a little over an hour of your time, if you’re really interested to know what futurists think.

I found it interesting, anyway. And he certainly isn’t attributing powers of the weather to Satan, only to God.

Wrong!

No where in that article does the author attempt to attribute God’s power to Satan.

What is wrong is changing what I said and then accusing me of lying. Read again what YOU posted and then explain the link to "Weather and the Bible" which YOU provided.

What is POINT ONE on Diane's page? Let me quote from it: "Weather disasters can originate with Satan."

Any other blasphemy in those links you want light cast upon?

On the contrary, the entire article is all about God’s sovereign control over the powerful forces of nature that He created.

The alternative to God's sovereign control over nature or anything else is called "Deism", a theory that says that on the seventh Day God sat back and is letting the whole world spin on its own, with only occasional zapping here and there to smack someone down or raise someone up. What the article and your latest comment attempts to do is deceive people into thinking that God only handles the big stuff and ignores pretty much everything else. Its terrible theology, misrepresents sin, sin nature, The Curse, and mocks God's hand of judgment.

It also pushes a Judao-centric view of the world which is inherently racist and heretical in that it denies the doctrines of Redemption. Mostly it is plain stupid and makes Christians look like complete foaming at the mouth idiots and is not too far from what I would expect to see from the Westboro Baptists - that is, looking for any occasion to say "God Hates You and Wants to See You Suffer" .

It was stupid when people were screaming that the Gulf oil spill was a result of "Cursing Abraham" because the US said that they would not necessarily back up Israel on everything in the UN. Its stupid now when someone claims that the latest flood was a result of "Cursing Abraham" by somehow recognizing Palestinians. How did Chile "Curse Abraham" a couple weeks ago when they got hit with a 7.1 earthquake?

The point being is that your ilk wants to keep people in a constant state of terror in fear of offending the gods by accidentally "cursing Abraham". This is raw pagan idolatry at work here and is the exact same kind of thinking that led to human sacrifice and other atrocities committed to appease the gods so that they would not strike down mortals in their capricious vengeance.

This is truly sick thinking that God is just hovering above the earth waiting to strike down and kill people and destroy property because some politician said or did something. The world has calamities because of SIN. SIN is a whole lot more than "cursing Abraham", and painting God as some cosmic sniper with an itchy trigger finger is mockery of all that is Good and Just.

Just stop it.

Is the article suggesting that:

-God caused the deaths of hundreds of Brazilian civilians, the vast majority of whom probably had no realistic influence on their government (or even the ability to participate in their country's political process at all)

because

-The government of Brazil made a particular foreign policy decision

?

The link to hear John McTernan restore Pagan beliefs of appease the gods or die

Wow.

I really appreciate the link, I now understand just how bad the insanity is and how so many find it appealing. I was careful and took notes of the entire thing and was impressed by how he could lie and make back-to-back false equivocations with such smoothness and sincerity. His handling of Scriptures is shameful but now I have a better understanding of why Dysfunctionalists are the way they are. I have never seen so much eisegesis even when discussing the divinity of Mary with Roman Catholics.

I now know what the cure to Dysfunctionalism is. It is mandatory that people need to carefully read their Bibles and not gratuitously make false definitions of so many terms.

In one of the more flagrant violations of Biblical interpretation, he, within a few seconds took passages written by different prophets speaking of totally different things and pretended that they were the same, and then quickly assumed that "House of Jacob" = "House of Joseph" = (jumps to different prophet) "House of David" = "Jerusalem" and then he just gratuitously threw in = "Israel" even though it wasn't used anywhere. He even managed to completely ignore the "Judah/Jerusalem" juxtaposition and contrast which would have trashed his series of wrong equivalences.

So things that I have learned from this lecture.

All of which is easily demonstrable with Scripture to be a lie (much of it outright heretical), but it wrecks the campfire story and probably would ruin book sales.

My Notes:

13:45 - "the day of the LORD is near' = 2600 years later. Just totally ignores the word "near" and gratuitously says "2600+ years from Obadiah's day, and Edom is no longer Edom, but is the united States".

14:00 Claims that "day of the LORD' can only mean the 2nd coming. Absolutely ignores all biblical evidence to the contrary.

15:00 Contradicts his own predictions by saying that individually we bless Israel yet we still get smacked because of affliction brought on at a national level.

16:15 Says that Genesis 12:3 and Obadiah 15 go hand in hand in our present day relationships. Proof? Any evidence other than just assertion? (No) Is there any evidence that to "curse Abraham" means to not suck-up to modern day Israel? Where does that gratuitous assertion come from? The language in Genesis and the context in Genesis clearly means Abraham. In Genesis 26:2-5, the promise is repeated to Isaac with the exception of (curse those who curse you and bless those who bless you) - because that aspect of the promise was made to Abraham only (a personal promise)

16:40 says "since that tiny little nation is important to the LORD, then it should be important to us, right?" Excuse me? Who said that the modern day Israel was "important to the LORD", anymore so than modern Egypt, Paraguay or New Zealand?

17:00 that at the 2nd coming of the LORD, the Christ-hating nation of Israel will be made holy. John seems to be oblivious to the preceding chapter and thus isolates these two verses (4:3-4) as if they refer to a physical millennial kingdom thousands and thousands of years in the future, rather than the immediate judgement sent to them via Babylon.

18:00 John preaches righteousness without repentance, that God will pour himself out on them, cleanse them of their sins but no where in there do we see them recognizing HIm as LORD, nor do we see repentance.

18:32-20:00 Gratuitously changes "House of Jacob" and "House of Joseph" to be "Israel" and then ignores "house of Esau" but gratuitously says that Zecharia 12:6 is the speaking of the exact same thing and then instead of finishing his quote of Obadiah 18, jumps to Zecharia 12:6 and pretends that "glory of the House of David" is the same as "House of Jacob and Joseph" which is the same as saying "tiny nation of modern day Israel" (incidently Zech says "House of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the LORD before them") then we have a quick word change again to "Jerusalem" (as opposed to Judah). The false equivocations here are breath-taking in their audacity.

20:30 John says that "Esau" = "Palestinians" and God will indeed destroy all of the Palestinians (yet John claims that God doesn't want to do it - how do you know, John? He says that GOd is working with the Palestinians, but if Esay = Palestinians, then God has already laid judgment against Palestinians - so John is speaking out of both sides of his mouth.)

22:00 John then makes excuses for why its a good thing that Palestinians are destroyed. (according to Obadiah) (yeah, right)

23:00 Says that God will smite the Palestinians because they will not submit to the LORD. What seems to escape JOhn's notice is that present day nation of Israel also refuses to submit to the LORD - yet God will bless the Jewish blasphemeres while simultaneously smite the Palestinian blasphemers.

23:10 "Mountains of Esau" = "areas to the south", Philistia = "Gaza", Ephraim = "West Bank", Samaria = "West Bank". Then he claims that Ephraim and Samaria are the same things, the first prior to the Babylonian captivity, and the second after the captivity. Fine. But then the gratuitous leap that this is license to say "West Bank" several thousand years later we are to assume to be true without any substantiation.

25:00 Benjamin will possess Gilead = "Jordon" - he predicts that Jordan will surrender land to Israel.

33:00 the "captives of Jerusalem" located in Sepharad = "Spain"

34:00 Remaining Jews will flee Spain (Zarephath) after the war into the south/gaza (Sepharad) [v20] replacing the Palestinians.

37:00 "the saviors will come" = the church that returns with the Messiah (Zech 14:3-5) "all the saints with thee" = "the saviors will come".

42:00 Now how can I insert myself into this story? Oct 30,1991 Geo. HW Bush "cursed Abraham" by stating that the US wants to see a Palestinian state. "Freakish storm developed in the Atlantic"

44:00 John says that Geo H W Bush caused the 1991 "Perfect Storm" because of his Palestinian State speech. "Madrid Peace Process" No mention of Israel Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir's November 1,1991 "With an open heart, we call on the Arab leaders to take the courageous step and respond to our outstretched hand in peace."

46:00 That God sent the Perfect Storm to trash Bush's Kennebunkport house on the day that he gave that speech. (applause)

48:00 Hurricane Andrew was because we had the Israel Peace Process in the US, and GHWBush was to lose the election. (Apparently Clinton would be better for Israel than Bush if we follow the logic)

Of course nothing was happening to Madrid when they had the Peace Process on their soil.

50:00 The US is no longer in the warning phase and is now in the judgment phase. In short, we are screwed, so give up.

50:00 calls traditional eschatology as "hatefilled and blind". (then refers to it in a pejorative - "replacementarian") and calls thousands of years of theology as bad doctrine.

52:00 then continues to call Covenant theology (correcting himself from saying that to use the hatefilled-pejorative "Replacement Theology") hypocrite.

52:00 "Fear of the LORD" = we need to be terrified of God's judgement on Christians because of the US political leadership.

53:30 The Northridge earthquake happened hours after Clinton said that Israel was going to have to give up the Golan Heights. on Jan 17, 1994 4:31AM. Hafez al-Assad of Syria met in Geneva on the 15-16th. (not hours, actually a full day [nitpick])

54:00 Shows Hurricanes happening on the same day that Gay Rights parades, or Arab visitors came to the US, or some speech regarding the middle east occured.

59:00 Political Humiliation follows after suggesting that Israel give up land for Peace. (Katrina)

1:00:00 Katrina marks the "end" crossing the "threshold" of warnings to judgment (WX = warnings, financial = judgement).

1:02:00 Makes false claim that no one was saying anything about financial difficulties ahead (Bravo Sierra) What about Europe who got slammed? Global stockmarket crash a few days after George Bush giving speech to create Palestinian state.

1:07:00 ROsh Hashanna, the market had its greatest crash, on Yom Kippur the whole world was falling

1:08:00 Next Yom Kippur, another crash, and then the feast of Tabernacles stocks were falling. - Collapses happen on Jewish feast days.

1:09:00 HIllary makes a statement and the stock market falls 370+ points. Apparently we don't get earthquakes and hurricanes as judgment we get financial calamity.

1:10:00 the host gets applause when he talks about God punishing America.

You really want to defend this video?

I would like to rewatch this video with your comments in hand, and I didn’t get the chance to do that today. I would like to respond somewhat, point by point, but I may have to make those day by day as my week is very full, leaving little time to study this and properly respond.

I do think it will be somewhat fruitless, as you obviously don’t believe that the Jewish people have the dramatic future event upcoming in God’s plan of salvation (other than individual Jews coming to Christ as they are today). But, I enjoy the back & forth, and I enjoy digging into these scriptures.

A few thoughts about what you said:

“All Jews will be declared righteous without acknowledgment of sin and without repentance”

and

“18:00 John preaches righteousness without repentance, that God will pour himself out on them, cleanse them of their sins but no where in there do we see them recognizing HIm as LORD, nor do we see repentance.

I can’t remember John saying anything like this (I will listen again), and I’ve never heard anyone say this. The scripture says the Jews will mourn, and clearly be repentant when Jesus reveals Himself to them. This is clear in Zech. 12 & 13, as well as Rev. 1:7.

“16:40 says “since that tiny little nation is important to the LORD, then it should be important to us, right?” Excuse me? Who said that the modern day Israel was “important to the LORD”, anymore so than modern Egypt, Paraguay or New Zealand?”

Obviously, you don’t believe this, but there is much basis in scripture for this belief. It’s basically your opinion vs. our opinion that happens to be well grounded in scripture.

Deut. 10:15: “Yet the LORD set his affection on your forefathers and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations, as it is today.”

There are countless other scriptures that talk of God’s love for Israel.

“16:15 Says that Genesis 12:3 and Obadiah 15 go hand in hand in our present day relationships. Proof? Any evidence other than just assertion? (No) Is there any evidence that to “curse Abraham” means to not suck-up to modern day Israel? Where does that gratuitous assertion come from? The language in Genesis and the context in Genesis clearly means Abraham. In Genesis 26:2-5, the promise is repeated to Isaac with the exception of (curse those who curse you and bless those who bless you) - because that aspect of the promise was made to Abraham only (a personal promise)”

Take a look at Gen. 27:29 (promise to Isaac):

29 May peoples serve you,
And nations bow down to you;
Be master of your brothers,
And may your mother’s sons bow down to you
Cursed be those who curse you,
And blessed be those who bless you.”

Also, further support that God has continued this promise for the Jews is found in Numbers 24:1-10:

1When Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to BLESS ISRAEL, he did not go as at other times to seek omens but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe; and the Spirit of God came upon him.

3He took up his discourse and said,
“The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor,
And the oracle of the man whose eye is opened;
4The oracle of him who hears the words of God,
Who sees the vision of the Almighty,
Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered,
5How fair are your tents, O Jacob,
Your dwellings, O Israel!
6”Like valleys that stretch out,
Like gardens beside the river,
Like aloes planted by the LORD,
Like cedars beside the waters.
7”Water will flow from his buckets,
And his seed will be by many waters,
And his king shall be higher than Agag,
And his kingdom shall be exalted.
8”God brings him out of Egypt,
He is for him like the horns of the wild ox
He will devour the nations who are his adversaries,
And will crush their bones in pieces,
And shatter them with his arrows.
9”He crouches, he lies down as a lion,
And as a lion, who dares rouse him?
BLESSED IS EVERYONE WHO BLESSES YOU,
AND CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO CURSES YOU.”

10Then Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, but behold, you have persisted in blessing them these three times!”

So you see, this is not only a personal promise to Abraham, but to his descendants as well.

I’ll try to tackle a little more tomorrow.

BTW, you see no future involvement from God to Israel (other than what He is working in any other nation)?

No significance at all with the re-birth of the nation of Israel?

No significance that all nations (including the U.S. under Obama) seem to be lining up against Israel in favor of the Palestinians?

Do you think the Palestinians have a right to any of the land that Israel now holds?

What exactly do you see as any future prophecy yet to be fulfilled?
