For someone who is constantly lauded for his brilliance and high-mindedness, and who himself seems never to stop talking about bipartisanship and unity, President Obama never fails to be petulant, petty, hyper-partisan and, most problematically, hypocritical.
After insisting at the outset of the speech that we will move forward together, or not at all -- for the challenges we face are bigger than party, and bigger than politics and that we are part of the American family, Obama once again set out to demonize a part of that America, the evil producers of 90 percent of our energy, the oil companies. I don't know if -- I don't know if you've noticed, Obama snarked, but they're doing just fine on their own, after demanding we eliminate unspecified subsidies for oil and give them to energy producers hand picked by Obama himself.

we are part of the American family,
Sure we are.
My brother and I used to joke all the time about, “Tonight at dinner, you bring a knife and I’ll bring a gun.”
And then we would rat-out our siblings to our parents and blame our sisters for stirring things up.
All families act like that, right?
Eliminate unspecified subsidies for oil and give them to energy producers.
GE comes out smelling like a rose on that deal. And people say Obama is on the take it’s just crazy talk.
He’s may think he’s smart but he’s doing a very dangerous thing playing to businesses and unions that game never ends wll.
Oil companies make 10 cents a gallon profit. 10 cents!
The Government makes WAY more than that on oil, and doesn’t lift a finger to do it. So screw you Obama.
...and those are his good points.
“Oil companies make 10 cents a gallon profit. 10 cents!”
I heard 8 cents. But that won’t stop Obama from using them as whipping boys. Big bad oil. Without oil we will all be sitting in the dark, riding bikes and cooking over wood fires in the backyard. Just what the Green Movement has in mind for the peons.
