Jared Loughner killed six people and injured over a dozen others in a rampage on January 8th. Amongst those dead were a nine-year-old girl and a federal judge; amongst the injured was Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot through the head. Now, according to a new poll, 56% of Americans believe that Loughner deserves the death penalty if he is convicted.
This solid majority is mirrored by only 24% of Americans who believe that Loughner should not get the death penalty. The remaining 20% of those polled are undecided.
Loughner's attorney Judy Clarke, who also defended Ted Kaczynski and Zacarias Moussaoui, plans to plead "insanity." However, only 28% of Americans believe that someone who pleads insanity should receive less punishment; 50% say that the convicted should be punished the same, regardless of pleas...
Concerning the lies that the liberal Main Stream Media has spread in the aftermath of the shooting, only 28% of Americans believe that Loughner's rampage was the result of "political anger." A solid majority, 58%, believe Loughner was simply an unstable man who got his hands on a deadly weapon.

One less leftwing wacko 9/11 truther.
How can anyone be undecided, much less against this?
He killed a 9 YEAR OLD CHILD! In cold blood.
Even if he is “legally insane” (unlikely since there is proof he planned this in advance and in detail), we should put him down like we would a rabid dog.
44% of the USA is nuts (of course, we knew more than half were in 2008).
Makes me want to say, He that is without sin, cast the first stone.
That 44% do not agree explains why Obama is the president, Harry Reid is still in the Senate and Bill Clinton won two terms.
He’s guilty. There’s no question. Put him down.
He shall, however, live at our expense for at least 20 or 25 more years before we can truly establish his guilt according to the liberal fools in this country. He should have been shot dead right there at the crime scene . . . Instead, we have to continue to look at that stupid picture where he’s mocking us with his shaved head and stupid smile. I’m sick of looking at that. Why not mention him by last name only and NOT show us that stupid picture.
Dozens and dozens of living, breathing witnesses saw the moron murder those people, and to have to wait more than a couple days instead of 20-25 years to process paperwork to execute the jackass is stupid.
What the hell is the matter with America? We can kill unborn babies 3,300 times a day WITHOUT DUE PROCESS, but we have to wait more than 20 years to get rid of this POS!
Killing a child should invoke a harsher penalty than just simple death.
The method used on William Wallace in ‘Braveheart” would be acceptable.

That 44% are the ones who won’t dispose of him until he admits that Sarah Palin gave him specific instructions. Then they’ll throw the switch faster than you can say Tim McVey.
I hadn’t thought of that. You’re probably right.
You mean “hanged, drawn and quartered”?
Personally, I would prefer pitchcapping!
They kill rabid dogs, don’t they?
I’m against it. This guy was clearly deranged and a danger to the public. People in a position to do something about it, to protect the public, did NOTHING and then pointed the finger of blame at Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh.
The shooting would never have happened if Sheriff Dupnik and the school officials at his community college had taken the simple step of referring Loughner to the state mental health dept. Arizona has a law which provides care and treatment for such referrals, but the sheriff and the CC shirked their responsibilities. It’s no different that being aware of child abuse and not reporting.
“56% of Americans: Loughner Should Get Death Penalty”
The fact that the percentage indicated by this poll is as low as it is — given the absolute certainty of Loughner’s guilt — is an indicator of how weak the nation’s moral soundness has become.
My guess — and it’s ONLY a “guess” — is that he _won’t_ face the death penalty, and may not even face criminal penalties, being adjudged “not guilty by reason of insanity”.
Arizonans — is such a verdict still possible out there, or was that amended after Ron Reagan was shot?
I have a much simpler solution:
Too painless.
That first jolt of 50,000 volts has got to burn just a lil’ bit.
