February 2008, while gearing up for his run at the presidency, Barack Obama told The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, I will not allow my predispositions [to oppose vouchers] to stand in the way of making sure that our kids can learn. Were losing several generations of kids, and something has to be done .
His union masters
Democrats serve at the pleasure of unions powerful unions are the Teachers Unions across the country. In separate questionnaires submitted to both the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association, Obama had affirmed his opposition to vouchers which are government scholarships provided to poor families so their children can go to private schools thereby escaping the dysfunctional public school systems.
Obamas hollow praise for vouchers should have been noticed by those who support vouchers, but deluded themselves into thinking Obama was actually open to allowing their use. He never was.
November 2008, once he was safely elected, Obama selected Sidwell Friends School a private Washington DC institution known as a place where pious liberals like Bill Clinton and Joe Biden send their children or grandchildren. There was to be no public schooling for Obamas girls.
February 26, 2009 admitted .. campaigning with education as a leading issue in his administration, had his fingers crossed. He had made his choice between taking care of his Teachers Union supporters and his poor voters. Clearly, the unions won.
