Howard Dean says it is the government's job to redistribute wealth

Remember way back in 2008 when then-candidate Barack Obama told Joe Wurzelbacher (aka "Joe the Plumber") about his desire to "spread the wealth"?

“It’s not that I want to punish your success,” he told Wurzelbacher. “I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Since then, the idea of redistribution of wealth has become a subject of debate in America, with liberals generally supportive of the idea.

While appearing on MSNBC's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, former Democratic National Committee Chairman and failed Democratic Presidential candidate Howard Dean explained that one of the reasons government existed was to ensure redistribution of wealth.

"The argument is not whether they should redistribute or not, the question is how much we should redistribute," he told O'Donnell.

According to Dean, government can do nothing unless it redistributes wealth.

But even a cursory read of the Constitution finds no mention of wealth redistribution.

One does find a reference to it in the writings of Karl Marx. In his 1875 Critique of the Gotha Programme, he wrote:

In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life's prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly --

It isn't the first time Dean has embraced communism, but this remark shows how utterly nuts he really is.

Gov. Dean gets points for honesty. But I won’t take him seriously unless he screams.

Dean should lead the way by sending all his gross assets to the gov’t to see how it works out.

What Howard Dean DOESN’T says it is the government’s job to redistribute wealth of SOME more than others.

Friend of ‘government’ who use their wealth for ‘social justice’ schemes are immune from retribution while those who use their wealth to profit and then create MORE wealth are to have their wealth redistributed in the name of FAIRNESS.

I’m sensing a pattern here... Obama talked about it, now Dean. There are probably countless others. The one I thought of was Hillary tslking about the “common good.” Communism didn’t lose, the Dems just adopted in, yet heaven forbid anyone call them on it.

obozo told O’Reilly on Sunday that he DOESN’T believe in redistributing the wealth. Did O’Reilly remind him of his own statement to Joe the Plumber? Of course not. obozo’s smirky little giggle at the end of any uncomfortable question tells us a lot.

These people are pure evil.

And there are dolts who still want to argue that the democrat party isn’t the rebirth of the National Socialist Party exactly like their fascist forebears in Germany. Without their outright slaves these days, they just stick to eugenics and welfare plantations. The management of those plantations provides a lot of well paid jobs for those admitted to the fascist nobility after careful screening in the “higher education” system.

Not only would the communists be proud, Hitler would be jealous of how well they’ve managed to institute their policies without waking up the “masses”.

Gee Howie, can you escort me to where it outlines such powers in the Constitution?

This is the Country the Left craves, not the Country we Americans have built.

The truth of the Left is revealed - they live, eat, and breathe Socialism.

...one of the reasons government existed was to ensure redistribution of wealth.

Could someone in a position of power please call Dean on this statement? I'd like to see him point to the clause in the Constitution where that is stated.

If he wants to re-distribute the wealth, let HOWARD DEAN be the first one to do so with HIS own money!

Here's a governor who has just jumped right in to do it.

Abercrombie: Some Retirees do not “make positive contributions in our community”

A $4k tax hike on $38k pensions affecting about half the pensioners in Hawaii.

Howard Dean:"The purpose of government is to make sure that capitalism for everybody, not just for the people who can run roughshod as they do often in Washington and as the chamber has by throwing their money around."

The time when the government and business run roughshod over us is when they get together to redistribute the wealth. Big examples are GM, Chrysler, Chase, Citibank, Goldman-Sachs, along with alternative energy ethanol, wind and solar. Stop redistributing the income away from the productive and to the failing and self-destructive.

Let's see now, my success comes from my work, your success comes from my work - oh, I don't think so. If you want success you better get off your lazy butt, study hard in school and work your butt off for your own success. Oh, and if the idiot Howard Dean wants to contribute a portion of his earnings (from money he earned off the American tax payer-me), to your success, you can call him in Washington D.C. and request it. I am sure since he so wants to distribute our wealth that he wouldn't mind a bit you getting some of his wealth. And that goes for the rest of the communist elitists who don't mind redistributing our money but want to amass huge fortunes for themselves. Sniveling, lowlife hyprocrites.

redistribute wealth

The word redistribute is a euphemism. Half the wealth that passes through the government's hands is destroyed by feeding it to the government beast. Giving a portion to the poor is just an excuse to make the theft socially acceptable. It's about the cut, not the cover story. Don't let the left control the language by using their hijacked word redistribute. It's really wealth confiscation and destruction.

The phrase “redistribution of wealth” is just a polite way of saying “theft” and nothing more. It if interesting to replace the polite words in statists’ sentences with their real meanings. Thus we get “the reason government existed was to ensure the theft of wealth. One thing I don't do with these people is play their semantic games.
