Hey HuffPo Bloggers - Was It Fun Working For Free To Make Arianna Richer?
Legal Insurrection ^ | February 8, 2011 | Professor William Jacobson

First, let me congratulate Arianna Huffington on selling The Huffington Post to AOL for a reported $315 million. Isn't America a great place? Arianna came up with a great business model. Create a place where liberals could tell each other how smart they were, where they could write blog posts without being paid, and where they could create a community of commenters who routinely attacked the evil Republicans...and then sell out for mucho dinero.

It always amazed me that HuffPo bloggers (not the handful of well paid staffers, but the great unwashed) thought they were so special by being allowed to blog at HuffPo, when in fact they were being treated as unindentured servants. They were able leave, but they were working for free to help Arianna build a business.

Who knew that the website devoted to a living wage and moral imperatives actually manged to get liberal bloggers to work for free to make money for the boss-lady and her investment banking investors.

There's a sucker born every minute....

It’s just amazing how much ‘garbage’ you can sell to someone.

I understand that Huffpo had massive debts, at one time some $350 million, I’m not sure how much Ms. Huffington pocketed on this one, but it will be far less than the selling price.

“I’m not sure how much Ms. Huffington pocketed on this one,”

I saw $18,000,000.00 in 2011 dollars.
That's about$18.00 in 1911 dollars. /sarc

Isn’t it funny how the screaming liberals will moan about capitalism but be the first to use it. Look at fatso Moore. Now ugly Huffington.

AOL way way way overpaid for this piece of garbage. AOL’s collapse in the past 10 years has been stunning. They are now in their death throes and this was the final gasp.

Beyond having a cute accent and being married to a fudgepacker husband, it is hard for me to see how Arianna ever became famous, much less rich.

I've never seen a case of two organizations so richly deserving of each other.

It cost money to run that site?

It wasn’t all done free for a good and just cause, i.e. protecting us from the evil and greedy Republicans and big business?

I thought that Ariana covered the costs out of the goodness of her heart.

Wow, and now she’s gonna make money off of it?

HAHA, reality always hits home eventually.

Welcome to liberalism. Liberals are grifters. It’s basically ‘hey look at that greedy SOB, he’s making money, we got to take it from him in the name of fairness and social justice!’ Lost is the fine print is that the liberal always ends up in the position of being the one taking and distributing everyone else’s money and making them work for free. Yet somehow when the game is up, it always manages to be the liberal who ends up with the big pile of money at the end.

Welcome to the second oldest profession in the world sucka.

Holy cow.

It turns out Arianna remained a Republican all along. What a great idea. Get rich off of Libs.

Did you hear that fatso Moore is suing over the profits from his 9/11 trash movie? Apparently, 19.8 million wasn’t enough, he says he’s owed 2.7 million more!

What a fat, lying, hypocritical b*stard.

Many of those bloggers were able to use HuffPost to promote THEMSELVES, such as Van Jones, and James Rucker, who used his posts to promote his group Color of Change and their boycott effort vs. Glenn Beck.
