Glenn Beck has always been known as someone to make some fairly bold and strange predictions, but the protests in Egypt may have given birth to a Beck prophecy on a whole other level. Beck has said that the Egyptian uprising is not merely about an oppressed and impoverished people fighting for their rights, but instead, Beck sees the uprising as an effort by radical Muslims and socialists to establish a one world government called a caliphate. Under Beck’s theory, the caliphate will eventually lead the “end of the Western world as we know it.” Beck has warned his viewers that the revolution is not merely about Egypt, but about their own towns, homes, and way of life...

He lost me with his call to prayers. I no longer watch Bishop Beck and his circus. He says some right things but he is too hung up with his own position to be entertaining and informative. Is it just me or has he lost his way?

Yes Leni, I pretty much agree. Good observations. I watch Beck frequently. Also enjoy his radio show.

".....if he presented his facts like Limbaugh does, I would probably watch him".

Well, most people wouldn't. We're talking about radio "audio" vs. television "video" and there's a tremendous difference between presentations on each.

My hero, Rush does three hours of soliloquies, callers and reading from newspapers interspersed with audio clips of the enemy just to break up what could become tedious.

He has his own vocal, linguistic and idiomatic tricks he uses just as Beck uses visuals (chalk talks, clips of the enemy), facial expressions and "tricks" (like the ever-present red phone) to make for an interesting show.

Rush's talk show and Beck's TV show are different, but alike in the fact that each employs devices to catch, intrigue and hold their audiences. Each does a damn good job.

Some people will never like Beck even if he showed a video clip of the Chicago Bears playing the Twelve Apostles....in that case it's better for these perfectly-informed folks to clean the garage during his show.

He almost lost me, too. In fact, there were days, mostly Fridays, when I didn't watch him because I knew they were his street preachin', moralizing days.

However, I posted a comment above which you obviously didn't read that Beck has changed considerably from his former mode and is clicking away with laser-like perspicacity right now.

I suggest you give him another try. If he lapses now and then like any other sinner, you should turn him off and switch over to all the screaming, overtalking financial panel gurus hired by the Fox Business network.

(.....moral: all TV shows are not 100% perfecto).

No, you are wrong. I don’t especially dislike Beck

Although I tape Cavuto and watch him rather than Beck, that doesn’t translate in to dislike

He is on target when exposing the domestic enemies but is not well informed on foreign affairs, especially the middle east.

Leni,
You’ve pretty much nailed it in regard to Beck.

With such a broad market for “skulls of mush”, Limbaugh linguistics will attract a limited audience.
With Limbaugh, ** Levin **, Beck, Ingraham, Humphries, and a multitude of others, many more will come into the fold!

...think many of us who "get it" get tired of constantly hearing it.

Precisely. It is very disturbing to hear the obvious being repeated continually and yet...no hard solutions presented; only fear and in GB's case, the worst case scenerio and fear is presented. Of course we know what the solutions truly are; very few have the courage to openly state those.

Well, they don’t.

If you count the black on black murders in America there seems to be a terrible problem of horrible black population where they kill each other on the streets, kill their children in the womb and can’t tell with certainty if their daddy is their daddy or their uncle.

But we know that while the above is true, it is not representative of the whole black population.

That is extrapolation of extrapolation. That is what happens on Free Republic and is what Beck has done with Muslims to sensationalize for his audience

I agree.

And to echo Mark Levin (paraphrased), “Lay off of Glenn Beck. I’ve had my disagreements with him, but I agree with him more than I disagree. ...”

When the citizens of this country can witness the open destruction of our nation and still insist that it is only a matter of ideology and refuse to believe the obvious, then the answer to your question is no.

There are even members of FR that maintain that Obama is simply stupid; a buffoon; or an inept leader at worst, how can we expect anyone to gather the resolve necessary to correct the situation.

When there are members of the most "conservative" website on the net refuse to acknowledge or are completely blind to the reasons for the destruction and havoc being reeked on our country, then again the answer to your question is no.

Discouraging, isn’t it? Foresight is given to us through previous generations and what they learned from experience..Hindsight, unfortunately, often comes after learning things the hard way.

It's stunning more than anything (and yes, discouraging too). I'm wondering what happened through the years that caused such blindness? When people see an enemy and they do not recognize them, then it is only a matter of time before the enemy is running the show. As far as I can see, unless there is a mass epiphany, we are pretty much screwed.

No, but WE will.

Most of what Glenn has been talking about on his TV show for the last year are things that many of us on this forum have been writing about for years (you know this as well as I Leni) and I, for one, appreciate greatly the fact that someone with a megaphone a large as the one Glenn has is bringing these thing into the light on a large scale. He has filled in a great many blanks, or to say it another way, connected dots that I had not been able to connect with my search staff of one!

Lately however he has delved into things that I previously had little or no knowledge of. That is important! If he is talking about things that folks like those who hang around here don’t know about we ought to listen and listen closely!

Do I like the way he presents the material? No I don’t although I frankly don’t know how I would do it any better but that does not change the fact that I have my recorder set to record the show EVERY day and I watch it later without having to endure the commercials.

I am convinced that Glenn is doing what he was put on this earth to do and if we don’t listen to what he says we are going to pay and pay dearly!

———Why do THEY do it?-——

I suppose there are a number of reasons, mostly they think everyone should believe as they do. (Know any people like that?)

Then they think America is a bad place. They hate sin. America is the home of sin. Look at Hollywood, alcoholism, single mothers, broken families, massive corruption, acceptance of homosexuals, permissive adultery and on and on. When they fixate on sin things get out of hand
