Liberals often claim to be patriotic, just as they claim they "support the troops." But what does the far left actually think and feel about America? File this one under "Would be funnier if it weren't so true."

Oil & water cannot mix because of their inherent natures and therefore since the core values of being a LIBERAL = betrayal of every core value that constitutes being an American, therefore its impossible to be a PATRIOTIC LIBERALS.
At best they MAY have a very tiny feeling of liking the country esp since they have profited from it over the years but hey, it still way better than living in CUBA!!

There are a significant number of people flying under the cover of “liberal” or “progressive” who are in fact some manifestation of communist statist fascist inbreeding.
There really is no difference between a communist and a fascist, just a struggle over who gets what when.
The statists remain forever, they just sit out the fight and suck up to whatever particular a$$ prevails in any given circumstance.

I wish I could condense the quote into my tagline, but it is irreducible. I ask you to find some way to more broadly disseminate this supernal comparison between selfish love and patriotic love, as it is a crystal clear perspective upon the ongoing clash of ideologies in our nation.

Well..... my reply was certainly one of my better ones if I may say so.
But I will say again that so_real’s distinction between selfish love and patriotic love is a dichotomy that needs to become an expression, part of the language in discussing the left versus the right.
In fact, here’s an example. Everyone’s heard “don’t do as I do, do as I say”. Now... look as the actual physical aftermath of (1) the Tea Party rally on the Mall in D.C., and (2) the recent occupation of the Wisconsin State House.
Patriotic love: the Mall was left practically spotless. Cleanup was quick and easy.
Selfish love: the State House was trashed and vandalized to the tune of millions of dollars, in the name of gimmegimme/I’m entitled/they owe us.
The patriotic/selfish formula applies a microscope to both events and highlights the differences in sharp detail.

Of course liberals are most certainly NOT patriotic. That needs no further elaboration since it's self-evident.
I'll go a step further by stating -- without equivocation -- that regardless of their proclamations to the contrary, a liberal simply can't be a Christian. The ideology that lies at the core of liberalism is in direct and active opposition to Christ's teachings. At best liberalism is just a small step away from Marxism, a political philosophy built upon a foundation of denying the very existence of Almighty God!
To be fair, there may have been some Democrats (back when the South was essentially a one-party region) that were Christians. I think such people merely adopted the label of that party as an expediency but otherwise adhered to Conservative values, values that are in harmony with those of Christianity.
Liberals can not love God and country, because you can not worship both God and Baal, they love them selves which makes it impossible for them to love any thing else.
They are only patriotic if there is wealth to be redistributed.
