It is enough to make a grown man weep to see how tepid the House Republicans are under Speaker John Boehner. It isn't just that their pathetic excuse for federal budget cuts betrays the 2010 electoral mandate of the American people, which it does. It is that their tepid response to the massively destructive federal budget signals to the American people that the Republican Party still cannot be trusted with the reins of government.
We live in a time of crisis, and the people are seeking substantive solutions to life-threatening problems. That means they want the politicians to stop their inane chatter about "getting along" and "compromising" with one another, while the nation continues going to Hell in a hand basket. The faux media limelight in which Washington politicians bathe from sunup to sundown casts long shadows, to be sure, but those shadows are not real. They are but suggestions of reality. A hard reality besets the American people, while our politicians are beguiled by shadows.
If John Boehner's tears are shed only for his personal climb out of poverty into power, then he should retire from public service and go sit on his laurels somewhere. The American people are outraged at what the "elites" are doing to this country, and if John Boehner and his coterie of Republican followers haven't got the stomach to stand up to them, then they should get out of the way of people who do. Michelle Bachmann and Paul Ryan have set the gold standard of uncompromising honesty in politics today. They know that any budget deal that allows a single dollar of taxpayer money to fund a single program or agency involved in ObamaCare is a dollar that is being used to subvert our Constitutional Republic.
The Tea Party movement should have been a wake-up call to John Boehner and the "go-along-to-get-along" Republican political class. It is time to get some Republicans into office who are less concerned with how well the "elites" think of them than they are about how well they do for the American people. If John Boehner can't make the cut, then the American people will really give him something to cry about in the 2012 Republican primaries.

It is no stretch to label Obamacare as an Enabling Act reminiscent of you-know-who.
Obamacare represents the endpoint of democrat party law making - dictatorship.
They are mired in the same stupid group think that SCOTUS will bail them out of having to make tough decisions. It is very rfreshing to see news reports on Fox last night describing how the freshmen and true conservatives are now publicly speaking out about the chicken-hearted leadership. Even with the latest CR they refuse to defund Planned Parenthood or NPR.
One would think with the expose of NPR and using the words of Margaret Sanger over and over again, these two issues would be a slam dunk gonner.
The leadership has never gotten on the tracks and never will. One would think the Wisconsin episode would have awaken some of them but it is just to show they never had it in them to chip away with a ten pound sledge rather than an icepick. Too many sacred cows from which they benefit from the lobbyists.
That same language appears in most laws these days.
I've been hearing the same lamentation for all of my adult life. The Republicans have a penchant for spinelessness whenever they achieve any position of power-- always have, always will. Likewise, I have heard the old warning that we have to work inside the GOP to make it more conservative. Yet nothing ever changes.
The often quoted definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again with the expectation of a different result. At what point do we as conservatives realize that we're being played the same way the Democrat Party plays the Black community? It is time to throw this party of discredited pretenders overboard.
We truly find ourselves on the horns of a dilemma.
I’d love to see a strong third party get started but there is also no doubt in my mind that running a full slate of candidates would give the ‘Rats control of all three branches. And if THAT happens again, I am positive they will use the opportunity to create police state totalitarianism. They would allow only charade elections and there would be NO personal liberties allowed ever again. A regime that makes Ghaddafi’s look like the Boy Scouts would keep an iron grip on every aspect of life.
The ‘Rats have proven how down and dirty they are with their ugly and hateful tactics in WI and OH.
Only a coup could get rid of them and I’d bet they already have “loyalist” military officers bought and paid for, ready for that day. Shoot their own people? Almost everybody has a price-—even the bottom feeders who exist within the generally super-patriotic US military.
A Tiger cannot change its stripes. The GOP is the GOP. We keep hoping for change but its not going to happen.
We can work within the boundaries of the Republican Party but we have to BECOME the Republican Party and take it over like the leftists have done with the Democrat Party. Out with all RINOS is an obvious first step.
I believe that is the answer. We need to elect Palin/Bachmann/DeMint to the White House, so we have a real leader who believes in limited government and will push to dismantle socialism in our country. We need to push to elect more real conservatives, work inside the party to help elect real Americans who are there to give back to a free country instead of RINOs who are there for the perks. If we don't start shrinking the government monstrosity after 2012, it's time to give up on working through the system and take a more active approach.
Sarah Palin changed things in Alaska....no compromise....when they made her life impossible as governor she resigned...essentially beating them again, leaving a Republican to carry on. There aren’t many like her around...who can beat them at their own game. All it takes is a set of stones....which our Washington pubbies have had bred out of them.
Seems to me this whining is overdone at the moment. Get on with some real work.
Levin: Why is Boehner being a coward?

Levin explains that the last Congress is trying to control the spending habits of future Congresses through this hidden ObamaCare funding, and Boehner, despite already breaking a rule to stop other appropriations, refuses to break the same rule to stop this funding. Thus Levin asks why is Boehner being a coward.
He adds that any Representative that votes for this CR is voting to fund ObamaCare, and he’ll see to it that they have to answer for it in their districts. He also adds, ‘grow a pair’.

People who think that the Republican Party can be reformed from within are sadly mistaken. It AINT gonna happen. The Republican Party was born in crisis and its replacement will be also. To argue otherwise is to waste precious time.
Scanian, don't we already have the evidence to **KNOW** that there are Obama loyalists in the military?
There is **no possible way** that the highest military officers who let LTC Lakin, Major Cook, and Captain Rhodes swing slowly in the wind will ever defend the Constitution against domestic enemies.
The paychecks, perks and pensions of our highest military are far more important to them than Article 2, Section 1, of the Constitution.
Maybe you have evidence....I only have suspicions.
Gen. Casey is one who comes to mind immediately among the top brass.
