Politico's Sexism against Conservative Women

Michele BachmannAny news junkie will tell you that Politico has been on a steady decline in journalistic standards for the past few years. They have taken it to new levels with the latest piece of hackery by the leftist mouthpiece Jonathan Martin and Kendra Marr entitled "For Michele Bachman, a pattern of getting facts wrong."

This story, the top "news item" last night on politico.com was a hitpiece entirely about some verbal miscues Michele Bachmann apparently made in New Hampshire.

Martin said:

"For Bachmann, who leads the House Tea Party caucus and champions a return to the Constitution, to get such basic facts wrong about the country’s birth is revealing."

Revealing about what exactly? Martin doesn't say, and I doubt anyone really cares.

What was the point of this article supposed to be? Jonathan Martin and Kendra Marr think Michele Bachmann is an idiot? wow, there is some objective journalism...

So Michele Bachmann misspoke, so what? Where was the outrage when Barack Obama referred to Penn State as the "Nittaly Lions." Where was it when he claimed to have visited 57 states? Where was it when he referred to a Navy Corpsman as a CORPSE MAN?

Unfortunately for us, and addiing to the failing creibility of Politico the equally distasteful Ben Smith alleges that Sarah Palin was only picked to be Jon McCain's running mate out of some sort of affirmative action vetting process.

rips into Michele Bachmann, but nary a word on Barack Obama's miserable failings.

The sad truth is that the hacks over at Politico are threatened by conservatives and conservative women. There has been an appearance for a long time that women are overwhelmingly affiliated with the Democratic Party. Sarah Palin changed all that. People like Nikki Haley, Michele Bachmann, Marsha Blackburn, and a whole host of other conservative lionesses have gained significant prominence in the last few years. Apparently Politico writers hate that.

My advice to them is to get over it, because times-are-a-changing.

Conservatives are always going to be held to a standard 1000 times higher than the left. We know that, and have to deal with it.

That said, Bachmann's gaffe was appalling. I like her, but as I said, conservatives are going to have every syllable analyzed and critiqued.

Identity politics ONLY matter if you serve the Democrat-Socialist Party. Otherwise, you are a “sell out”, a “race traitor”, an “uncle tom”, an “aunt jemimah”, not “really” hispanic (if you were born in Cuba, for example), etc.

Then it becomes fair game to launch the most racist and misogynist attacks on the “evil” conservative.

Women used the c*nt word, the b*tch word, made rape jokes, death threats, and more in attacking Sarah Palin in 2008. The Feminazis are NOT for the advancement of women. They are for the advancement of liberal socialism, and anyone who gets in their way is to be destroyed by any means necessary.

Jonathan Martin? Again?

“And The Most Irresponsible Journalist Award Goes to The Politico’s Jonathan Martin!
So tell me, how do you write a “news” story about an organization paying for a speaker when you don’t even know if the organization is paying for the speaker?
Ask “journalist” Jonathan Martin. He knows all about it.
You see, Jonny wrote a piss poor story the other day about how the Iowa Family Policy Center will be paying a large speaker fee if Sarah Palin comes to Iowa to keynote the IFPC’s fall funderaiser.
The only problem is that Jonny has no sources confirming that any exorbitant fee is being charged or paid.
Jonny also got some inside info from David Kochel, who was a top aide to former (and future) presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.
Hey Dave, didn’t I just read a story about how Mitt Romney tried to buy off the Iowa Christian Alliance?
I heard you helped facilitate that little scheme. And somehow you are shocked at the thought of a well-known political figure (who very likely isn’t running for president) getting paid a speaker’s fee for (gasp) a public speaking appearance? ..
and then we’ve got Tim Albrecht quoted. He was the Iowa spokesman for Romney’s 2008 caucus campaign.”
And it always seemed like, whenever the Romney people had rumors they wanted to start about other candidates,
Jonny was their go-to guy to get those rumors in writing in front of a national audience.

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

I agree, I just think we need to point out the double standard as much as possible. Gaffes happen on both sides of the aisle but it isn’t fair to crucify Michele Bachmann and give a free pass the the POTUS. Hillary Clinton has said some dumb stuff before too, as have many liberal women.
