People Are Starting To Notice

Recent poll data suggest that Americans have woken up to the fact that Barack Obama is an empty suit, and the Democrats have nothing to offer in terms of policy solutions. First, President Obama.

Today's Rasmussen Reports finds that among likely voters, President Obama has matched his lowest standing ever. He now ranks at -22 on the Approval Index, defined as the difference between those who strongly approve and strongly disapprove of his performance:

[Graph]

Rasmussen also finds that the voters' preference for Republicans over Democrats is growing, as the current generic Congressional preference survey has Republicans ahead by 46-37. Oh, and 62 percent favor repeal of Obamacare, nearly the highest percentage yet recorded.

Other pollsters are finding evidence of growing pessimism among Americans. Remarkably, the ABC News/Washington Post poll finds that Americans are less confident in "our system of government and how well it works" than at any time since the question was first asked in 1974. Worse, in other words, than in the aftermath of Watergate and than at any time during the Carter administration. And, for good measure, 71 percent "report financial hardship as a result of rising gas prices." Shades of the 1970s, only worse; and we have, effectively, no president.

In polls, people tend to cast blame indiscriminately, but when they actually vote, matters are often clarified. Thus, several readers pointed out the result of an election in Dade County, where an overwhelming 88 percent voted to recall Mayor Carlos Alvarez because he raised taxes in order to fund a 3 percent increase in wages for public employees. Alvarez reportedly is the first public official to be recalled since Gray Davis, but one suspects there are more to come, and soon. Let's hope this sends a message to politicians in Wisconsin.

Add to that the fact that even the MSM is starting to publicize just how spectacularly Obama has checked out in the midst of the current crises(s).

Obama is clearly over his head. The big question is; who's running the show? My guess is that it's the likes of George Soros and Richard Trumka. The polls are dropping so fast of Obama, Obama Care and the Dem's in general that I am wondering if he will even run for a second term. In fact, it appears to me by his recent actions he may have already made the decision. Soooo, if I'm correct, Hillary will be the one to watch. If she starts being more vocal in stating policy positions that will be a pretty good clue...

If the number of hopelessly stupid that vote exceed the number of rational, then the point is moot.

Look at schumer, reelected for life, or until his psychotic break with reality becomes too obvious to conceal... Representing what was once the most advanced city on Earth.

He just needs more time to come out from under his desk. Give him a break, it's a big scary world out there. What's a community organizer to do?

Somebody needs to find that old b&w photo of JFK seated at that desk with John John playing underneath. Then photoshop Zer0’s face over the boy’s...and take JFK out altogether.

John Kass has always argued that Zer0 takes orders from the Chicago City Hall.

Well, now there is a Daley acting as WHCOS, so maybe 0 is just letting the Chicago boys make the big decisions. Or not make them.

Wow, we are seeing a 1-2-3 punch (Japan, ultra inflation, and Middle East) trifecta that the punk president will never recover from.

The country needed leadership, and we got an expert on the NCAA tournament. Maybe the Japanese should have fielded a collegiate baseketball team.

Obama's Approval on the Real Clear Politics average of all polls, dipped back into the negative territory for the first time this week after being back in positive territory since mid-december and is currently sitting at +0.3% after hitting highs of +5.0% in the aftermath of his approval of the Bush tax cuts and the State of the Union, it has been steadily declining since then.

It appears that those in the public that were willing to give Obama a second chance after November, to see if he would really change, have quickly turned back against him.

Shades of the 1970s, only worse; and we have, effectively, no president.

Doesn't it seem like 1979, president-wise, for those of us sentient in those days?

What is there to miss? Our Basketball Tout in Chief (BTinCh) hasn't done or said one thing different in public pronouncements since he started campaigning in 2004.

He has to be livid these days with his speech writers. Every morning he looks in the mirror expecting to see Abraham Lincoln or Ronald Reagan. He is still looking for the perfect sound bite. He says to himself, "How will you go into the books as the most loved and respected while making those vacuous pronouncements day after day?"

The problem, of course, is Lincoln never handicapped a basketball tournament or ran off to the golf course while Jubal Early tapped the defense of Washington DC, Fort Stevens if memory serves...

Maybe if he can just pick that NCAA winner in advance. That will be his one important accomplishment.
