How about monitoring the teachers’ facebook posts? I know of one Wisconsin teacher who encouraged her students to walk out of school in support of them against the taxpayers and Governor of Wisconsin.

How does Facebook monitor such threats without monitoring all communication?

There is a way for you to report abuse on Facebook, as there is on FR. I've actually done that on FB when I witnessed over the top, abusive comments. Nothing was done. Facebook is making billions and needs to hire hundreds or thousands of monitors who will follow up on threats.

Close the accounts of people making threats.

I always thought it should be the parents that monitored the facebook posts.

I can see monitoring lunchtime chatter at a school.

I know lots of parents that have allowed their kids to do this. These are parents of homeschooled kids and other kids at my church.

I know the parents know the kids have accounts because they post there.

I would not let my kids get an account until they were 13, and then I monitor it closely. I’m friends with my twin daughters and I know one of their passwords. My 16 yr old son had me as a friend for awhile, but he defriended me. However, I’m friends with lots of his friends, and he routinely leaves himself logged into facebook. It’s easy to see what he and his friends are up to.

I would think illegal threats could be taken directly to law enforcement?

Make sure you take a position on high ground, have a good scope and take a few of them out first.

Actually that's not how it will happen. On a farm when you slaughter an animal you take it away from the herd to a place where the others won't smell the blood, etc.

The rope will tighten and those who squawk will be quietly moved aside so that the sheep are not disturbed. The proper PC term for this now days is that you will “receive counseling”. And if that doesn't work “further treatment”.

Killing you will not serve their purpose as well as you being able to “reintegrate” with the new order.

Remember, they are your friends who want to see you get back to “normal”.

Facebook will not take this whole topic seriously until they're sued for millions...IMO

Montessori to the max: If the child insisted on being so mirthful,
he would stay in the courtyard till his mood darkened.

My son does not have Facebook but he does have politically lively conversations during lunchtime... I guess the school should be calling anytime now.

How about monitoring the bullying that goes on day after day toward Sarah Palin?

No, I mean by the threatened. I would think that for anything reaching that bar, Facebook would cooperate with a request/demand from the authorities.

Not every parent knows what’s going on in their teenagers’ lives. My brother doesn’t go on FB and doesn’t know the trash his daughter posts there.

A lot of parents won’t go to FB to complain when their kids are being threatened because their kids don’t tell them.

Parents need to tell their kids “If the teacher asks if you have a FaceBook account, tell them NO!”

I just think that’s got to be a parental question, then.

FB requires you to state that you are 13 to sign up—which I believe is the law, though I understand lots of parents let their younger kids lie to join.

What’s next? Is the owner of the local pizza joint going to be required to eavesdrop on teens’ discussions when they’re having their slice after school?

Socialism needs a Stasi, that’s the only way it even has the appearance of working. America voted this in, and we’re paying for it. Enjoy.

Yup.. 99% of this spying garbage can be headed off with flat out lying.

They want to teach our kids to accept being spied on 24/7, fine.. we will teach kids to distrust and LIE to anyone trying to invade their privacy and spy on them without the slightest bit of remorse.

This extends to other forms as well including Twitter, and mobile phones.

If a student is reported then the student, family and potentially the entire community may be forced to attend re-education.
