Donald Trump On Iraq Oil: America Should Take It, ‘To The Victor Belongs The Spoils’
Mediaite ^ | April 4, 2011 | Matt Schneider

In the brand new “Mondays with Trump” segment of Fox & Friends, potential Republican candidate for President and consistent headline seeker Donald Trump called in and shared his thoughts on the latest topics in the news. Proving that anything goes in the segment, Trump discussed everything from promoting Celebrity Apprentice in one moment, to his plans for Iraqi oil in the next.

Trump spoke highly about Republicans Paul Ryan and John Boehner and their efforts to get the federal budget under control. Yet on a lighter and more entertaining note, Trump commented on reports that Oprah Winfrey desires having him as a guest for a makeover on one of her last shows. Trump joked, “I’m worried about a sinister plot. The plot is that Oprah supported Obama, maybe she wants to give me a makeover so that I would not have even a minor chance against Obama.”

Also Trump really enjoyed appearing with Bill O’Reilly last week, saying he received “an amazing response from the O’Reilly show, it’s probably the biggest show he’s ever done in the sense of three fairly full nights of me, and he was very happy, as he will tell you his ratings were phenonmenal.” Gretchen Carlson couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at Trump’s unabashed promotion. Finally Trump didn’t back down from earlier statements on Iraq, suggesting American soldiers will have died in vain if we leave Iraq and let Iran go and take the oil fields, instead of us as the victors getting the spoils.

When all the peacecreeps were yelling "No Blood for Oil!" it was b.s., but he does have a point. Why spend over a trillion dollars and lose all those servicemembers for nothing?

Don’t you just know that every time Trump opens his mouth and speaks truth to power, Soros adds another 100 or so opposition researchers to the thousands that are already at it on behalf of BO.

We shouldn’t take it but the Iraqis could certainly afford to remiburse us in oil for the cost of their freedom.

He keeps hiring slacker twenty-somethings, from what I can see. They know how to Google and eat the free pizza, but that’s about it. If I were him, I’d be hiring former intelligence people and researchers, not the dregs of the local Starbucks and comic book store.

Related Info:

Iraq exported 1.8 million bbl/d of crude oil in 2009. About 1.5 million bbl/d of this came from Iraq’s Persian Gulf ports, with the rest exported via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline in the north. The majority of Iraqi oil exports go to refineries in Asia, especially China, India, and South Korea.

I agree with Trump. If we are not going to produce it here anymore, it has to come from somewhere. The Iraqis will make money, the oil will just be sent to the US and Briton.

Although it was true once, it is too late now to go back down that road. Let’s try it with someone else - like Iran.

Circus politics. If it is a choice of between electing P.T. Barnum Trump over the clown currently in the center of the ring, I will vote for the loudmouth any time.

While I’m not opposed to reasonable reparations, we should not forget what triggered the second world war.

Whoa! So, when Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Fox News were foaming at the mouth about what a threat Saddam was, it was all BS? This is worse than I thought; that we have come to the point where the only way to justify this horrible mistake is to get some oil out of it.

A pox on all politicians. You never see them go to war or send their own kids. All the death and destruction for what? To install and protect a new thug after deposing the old thug. Not only that, but we have brought in thousands of Iraqi (Muslim) refugees to join the Future Jihadists Club. This has been an expensive disaster from day one.

Every time some politician wants to demonstrate his power and show how tough he is, he sends out the troops. The only ones who benefit are defense contractors. As that Marine general said, “War is a racket.”

I do not trust Trump. He’s beginning to sound like satire.

Do you also recall that the United States, through President Wilson, got next to nothing out of World War I, even though we broke the stalemate and won the war? That’s the model that presidents since then (FDR, Truman, LBJ, Nixon and both Bushes) have used. We are the opposite of the ancient Romans.

It's a little more complicated than that. Which oil companies have the contracts? What are the transportation costs? What grade of oil are they producting & how hard is it to refine? That's off the top...

...Soros adds another 100 or so opposition researchers to the thousands that are already at it on behalf of BO.

They are really doing a bang up job, aren't they. Other than the plan to install Commie Pinko Sec of States all over the country, I don't see where Soros and all his money has done anything. And since the S of S thing came to light, a counter effort has been mounted. He just had to hire 100 people at Media Matters because they just can't destroy FOX News and Beck with all the freeloaders they already employ. He threw millions to NPR (with no ratings)to counter the right wing media. It is all a joke. This guy is strictly a meal ticket to a legion of unemployable punks who live in their mothers basement. Don't panic about Soros. He is exposed and with that he is unable to do things in a style he is known for. Stealth.

The US got paid. That is why the French demanded such heavy war reparations from Germany -- an underlying cause of the German economic catastrophy that led to WW2.

Woodrow Wilson may have been a pie-in-the-sky internationalist, but he was making sure that US banking interests were covered as far as war debts were concerned.

FDR after WW2? Different story all-together.
