Rant against the machine
my tortured brain | 04/09/2011 | austingirl

Posted on 04/09/2011 8:42:31 AM PDT by austingirl

This is the email I am attempting to send to Boehner's email:

I am stunned that you caved into the radical leftists that have hijacked our republic, especially after the 2010 election results. The Tea Party principles are the majority view of the working slaves that fund your excesses. You are now part of the problem. An income tax is immoral. A tax on spending, called the Fair Tax, which actually taxes wealth, the underground economy and criminals is the moral way to fund the federal government.

Repeal the 16th amendment, dismantle the Department of Education, Energy, Fannie and Freddie and others too numerous to mention.. Disband the banking cabal known as the Fed which destroys the value if the American dollar. Stop federal meddling in every aspect of Americans' lives using the spurious justification of the Commerce Clause which was intended to keep interstate commerce REGULAR, not to regulate the amount of water in our toilets.

If you can't hold the puny and evil Harry Reid's feet to the fire over the 2011 budget, there is no hope that you can be effective preventing the raising of the debt ceiling and the bloated 2012 Obama budget.

If a working stiff making $30,000 a year borrowed $12,000 dollars a year and spent $42,000 a year - how long would they last? They would be homeless and destitute in one year. This is an exact parallel to Congress spending $1.40 for every dollar they take in. Either you are stupid, evil, or bent on destroying our nation.

The average wage slave is having difficulty buying food and gas and you failed every last one of us. The fact that we are not drilling our own oil and gas while the unqualified idiot in the White House gives billions to Brazil so we can overpay for their oil and further degrade America makes me want to howl at the moon. Using corn for ethanol rather than food is insanity.

I parted ways with the republicans when Bush didn't clamp our borders shut after 9/11 and when he and your ilk set out on a spending spree of other people's money. WE ARE OUT OF MONEY!

Shame on you!

Most sincerely, (my real name), an underemployed registered nurse in Austin, TX

Here is my civics lesson:

Voting is now the opiate of the electorate. Vote all you want, put in office whom you think will do the right thing and be back in two years to try again...an exercise in frustration. Oh, don’t forget to send in your donations too.

Imagine what the deficit would be if the democrats still controlled the House. Keep the pressure on the GOP. But don’t turn it back over to the dems.

The TEA party is big enough to slant elections. All of these damn socialists can’t spin this bull-crap enough. Everybody can now go have fun at the taxpayer funded Cherry Blossom Festival which are timely out of bloom.

When pigs fly the Republicans will control 61 in the Senate, own the White House and the H of Reps. Actually, they would need 70 in the Senate to have 61 votes. The House of Representatives has only one job to do in this type of instance, shut down the govt until the budget is balanced. CRASH the FED, lay it at the feet of the Democrats and walk away. I don’t care if they ever get voted into office again, if the do this one thing they are winners. You and I both know that the budget is out of control, if not now, when? We don’t have 5 years, we have maybe 3 before the dollar is dumped as the global currency, and we crash anyway.

I never was that excited over the 2010 election. And I was sickened when BooHoo Boner was elected speaker.

There are still too many rinos. As I’ve said before, I’d rather lose for my beliefs than lose after caving. And I’m not convinced conservatives will win in 2012 so they’d better start now. Yet they didn’t according to Mark Levin. And I’ll take his word over Rove’s any day.

The Founders simply did not design our branches of government to function in a “hurry up” fashion.

And lets the God they didn’t, or else we would have a single payer health care system now

So before you go out to tar and feather Speaker Boehner, just take a few minutes and think back to the grand old boxtox-filled jet-setting days of Speaker Pelosi.

This is the very reason conservatives are disgusted. We worked hard to get conservatives elected and take control of the House. We were promised $100 billion in cuts. Then we found out that our crybaby "leadership" thought this would be too mean and we would have to accept $61 billion but we would get it by eliminating the puss filled planned parenthood and NPR subsidies. Then we were told that the $61 billion in cuts would be too mean and we would have to accept less but we would not budge on the planned parenthood subsidies. Now we find out Crybaby settled for $38 billion, a number the Dems are laughing at, and to get the laughing Dems to agree to this pittance we had to cave on abortion funding.

Right now I put Crybaby as the number one defender of taxpayer funded abortions and chief supporter of profligate spending. Apparently he, and you, have a radically different opinion from me about what the message from the voters was in the last election.

You don't understand that the emperor has no clothes. You can rant all you want about compromise and fighting another day but it is becoming extremely obvious that our "leadership" is indeed naked.

The only hope I see on the horizon is a strong leader like Trump. The elite, effete, nancy boy Republicans get rolled by the much tougher Democrats every time. Can you imagine Reid trying that crap with someone like Trump? The Republicans, and the Country, will continue to slide backwards until we get strong leadership. We won't get it from professional politicians.

Why don’t you convert your letter into a petition and we’ll all sign it.

I have exhausted my mediocre computer skills posting this thread. How would I do this?

But I fear for our republic!

All the more reason to support Boehner while being clear this was insufficient. The debt ceiling and 2012 budget debates are ahead. If they feel they don't have your support they won't have any reason to fight harder.

Remember, Obama got none of the spending increases he wanted. Boehner got real cuts in spending with 1/2 of 1/3 of the government as his leverage. We're already over half-way into a 2011 fiscal year and Boehner's only been there a few months. This failure in passing a 2011 budget before last October was a Democrat-laid minefield.

Even the Tea Party only aimed for $100 billion cut from Obama's 2011 proposal. Boehner got $78.5 billion cut. That's far more than he expected. He was only so successful because he knew we were backing him up.

The 2012 budget will also disappoint you. I'm telling you know it will not be balanced. But it will have steeper cuts. Hopefully, they'll get a trillion in cuts. We'll see what they can pull off. This is not a problem that can be fixed in a single budget cycle. Cuts can only get so far, revenues need to rise which will only happen if the economy rebounds. The Democrats plan to push for tax hikes which might "raise revenue" but will surely drag on this anemic recovery.

We need to turn Democrats out in 2012. Every extra year they stand in the way of fiscal sanity, the harder it'll be to avert disaster. We cannot wait until 2016.

Now is NOT the time to go weak-kneed on Boehner.

Whereas you know what needs to happen (budget to income and repeal of the 16th), you like most are at a lost as to how to accomplish the goal.

You could write/print a train load of letters and it wouldn't have much more effect than your simple email.

To get control, you have to take control. This can be done peacefully as MLK and Gandhi have shown. Though peaceful, it will be painful for the participants. But certainly less painful than the catastrophe which awaits us all.

We have to shut down the economy until we wrestle control from our runaway federal government. To do this, a coordinated national economic shutdown by all like minded citizens and businesses lasting weeks and months would work.

The federal government is a parasite that will eventually kill the host. What we, the citizen body as host have to do, is take the appropriate medicine in order to cure ourselves of this illness. Otherwise, the consequences of our inaction isn't going to be pretty. Time to act is much shorter than you think.

I still do not comprehend where you get to 1/2 of 1/3.

This 1/3, the House, has a majority and therefore can block any appropriations bill it wants since they all originate right there.

In my feeble brain the GOP rules over 1/3 of the Govt, not 1/6.

Per the Constitution, any bill that originates and passes in the House, also need to be passed by the Senate.

Republicans control only the House, not the Senate. Thusly 1/2 of one branch of gov’t

As long as conservatives win, I am happy to have it come one modest battle at a time. Move the ball down the field.

Boehner did great work. The Republicans in Congress did great work. They deserve our praise and our support.

The shame is on those FReepers who can not be civil in their disagreement. It is fine with me for Austingirl to disagree and to want more sooner. We can respectfully disagree.

The name calling and lack of basic decency displayed by too many people here is not ok. It is rude and entirely counterproductive.
