Point well taken, but how do you propose the GOP carry out massive cuts when they have neither the senate or the white house? Boehner played a bad hand very well.

Paul Ryan has a plan to cut trillions, and that is where we should be focusing. This was a chump change sideshow. I’m glad it’s over. It only distracted from Ryan’s much more important plan

Lets be thankful it is a least a step in the right direction and work on getting a majority in the Senate and Prez in 2012.

That's the real point right there, which retards like all caps boy seem to be missing.

Face people - even these piddling cuts are unlikely to survive a Dim-controlled Senate, the inter-house reconciliation process, and the President's veto pen. To see anything substantive happen will require GOP control of the House, Senate, and Presidency.

Something that isn't made any easier by a bunch of stupid yahoos running around internet forums vomiting up idiotic nonsense while having their caps lock keys permanently on.

What's really key here is that the GOP, for the first time in a long, long time, forced the Left to even accept the premise that the budget could be cut outright, rather than just having the rate of spending growth slowed (which the Left erroneously calls "cuts" even though it's not). Once that point has been yielded, the battle's half over, we just have to wait for the American people to do the right thing in 2012 to give us the troops needed to get the job done in both houses, and to a GOP President.

The $38 billion is for the last 6 months of 2011. Double it.

The MSM and democrats work together to put out effective sound bites on the hourly news. Unfortunately, the Republicans have trouble getting out effective sound bites. The only ones who are good at it are conservative columnists, like Henninger and O'Grady of the WSJ, or some of the guys over at the Hoover Institute.

Sounds like your wife is a smart woman.

Tell her that change is coming. It won’t be anyone’s choice. It will be the inevitable, unavoidable, ultimate conclusion to great foolishness.

We are on an unsustainable fiscal course and it will meet its inevitable end.

Best Wishes

How silly of you guys to bring any rationality to the discussion. But it won’t do any good; the hyperventilators seem to rule these threads. Sad, as they are as irrational as the far left Dems are. You can’t win w/out compromise when you only have one half of one House of Congress, and no Presidency. But the dunderhead hotheads can’t seem to understand the obvious.

Waste your breath with your logic, just realize that you are indeed wasting your breath. However, I admire your fortitude in speaking truth in spite of the onslaught of illogical reaction on most of these budget deal threads. Kudu’s.

This was all show and no substance. The entire amount they “argued” about amounted to what the government spends in 12 hours, a half of a day. That’s it. Less than a day.

Gold and silver will surge in the coming days as the dollar now has no visible support from congress. The polidiots in DC still haven’t a clue what is happening to the economy.

Sure you can, we just have the wrong people in congress. I would have shoved that military spending bill that Obama said he would veto under his nose so fast as to make his head spin. Let him publicly veto that bill. Instead, the GOP caved...as always.

You can shove anything under the Prez’s nose that you want to and the veto will still be a veto, and a bill will not pass. So, you would have ended up in the same position as John Boehner was in, negotiating for the best deal you could get, and Boehner did a great job getting the best he could considering he had to deal against both a Dem led Senate and a Dem President. You can talk as tough as you want, and say how you’d force the Dems to do this and that, that is until reality slaps you upside the head, and you end up having to negotiate whether you like it or not. You either live in the real world or in an alternate universe. You are edging into (if not already there) an alternate universe.

So, you think because Obama says he will veto a bill then that is all that needs to be said? Your view is why the liberals have run over conservatives all these years; no guts. Try giving a military spending bill to Obama and let him veto it and see the resulting public reaction. Oh, wait, that will never happen as the Republicans are cowards and would never try.

Sad that the Democrats seem to get Republican Presidents to bend but we can’t seem to get Democrat Presidents to bend.

Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I suggest you are the one living in an alternate reality. We’ve been down this road before; if maybe you were old enough to remember 1994-1995.

LOL, I’m 63 years old, and yourself, maybe 2 years old? And, unless you are prepared to stoop to the Dems’ techniques and try to establish a dictatorship to force your bills through our Congress (in which case you may as well join the Democratic Party if you want to be like them), then you will have to live with our system of passing bills through Congress that can be voted down or vetoed by whomever the majority party is at the time. Sorry, but that’s how our forefathers set the process up. Go argue with them.
