Birther Who Impersonated Obama Claims He Accessed the President’s Selective Services Records

This news is breaking: This is bad news for Obama.
This is what we know so far. We get more info on Jean Paul Ludwig, who was born in 1890, had CT SSN obtained in 1976 and died in HI around 1981. There are 2 SS numbers for him and records show him dying in 2 different states: CA and HI around 1981.
The reason this is important, is because there is a similar fact pattern to Obama. Barack Obama is residing today in the White House, using CT SS number 042-68-4425, issued in CT in and around March 1977 to an elderly individual named John Paul Ludwig, who was born in 1890, who is presumed dead and whose death was either never reported to the SS administration or reported and deleted from the database by someone.
Obama's maternal grandmother Madelyn Dunham, worked as a part-timer or volunteer in the Probate Office in the Honolulu Hawaii Courthouse. Thus she would have access to the estate files of anyone who died there. Thus if the elderly man originally from CT died intestate in Hawaii with no known relatives, Grandma Dunham would have known this person is a prime candidate to steal the SSN of since there would be no known surviving family worrying about the death benefit from SSN and that the benefit was not likely applied for and thus SSA did not know he died.
Thus the SSN remained active for the deceased person and Obama could "adopt" it as his own. This is a clear case of identity theft at the federal level.
This is what we know about Ludwig:
In 1924, Jean Paul Ludwig worked for Senator Reed of PA, in Washington DC.

Poking around the internet is one thing, but sending for records which will just raise more questions is another. It's not about the $12 or other minimal costs.
All we have to go on with this particular bit of information seems to have originated with what appears to be a forged draft recrod that first appeared on Debbie Schlussel's blog IIRC. I don't really know who these people are or their motives. Any side could have done it or to throw everything off track. Furthermore, I don't know where these SSN's are coming from; they're supposed to be private information unless the person is deceased.
I figure if I'm meant to know something, it will come to me and what to do about it. Why don't you do it or let the big boys handle it?

You can also consider that your tax dollars help pay for collection and archival storage of those sort of materials. How about a little payback on that mandatory investment?
It's also not invasive to view an obituary from a 30-year-old newspaper at a library. Your tax dollars help pay for the retention of those records too.
Where you say "I figure if I'm meant to know something, it will come to me and what to do about it. Why don't you do it or let the big boys handle it?" many here will disagree. The exposure of critical information about corrupt politicians is one of the main reasons freerepublic exists.

I can't tell you if it was made up, but I've seen it as Obama's SSN in many different places over the past six months, so it's not specific to this blog.

The LAST thing Free Republic needs is a spreader of disinformation concerning Obama's origins.
Anyone who cares enough about this to post here has to know that it is reasonably well established that "Barry" was "Obama" to his high school classmates. And whatever one thinks of those birth announcements in the Honolulu papers, unless he thinks they have been fraudulently inserted into replacement microfilms in libraries around the country, they are also an indication that he was known for a time as "Obama."
The only school he went to in California that I know of is Occidental. I have never seen any information to suggest that he failed out of Occidental.
This screed was first posted by an IbJensen a few days ago and I replied then with doubts, none of which were answered in any reasonable fashion by this IbJensen.
Repeating bogus information is dangerous to the nation and this website.

The whole ‘Ludwig’ connection fizzled here at FR when the person making the original claim (on the Puzo websites) seemed unwilling or unable to share the details of exactly WHICH SSN database had showed that anyone named Ludwig was associated with that CT -4425 number. It was supposedly NOT the Social Security Death Index they used, but some other genealogy or private investigator database, and we have been given no other information.
If it was a true connection, I hope the original investigator uses that information appropriately.
Around April Fools day, someone spread an anonymous story far and wide to conservative bloggers, that included ‘new information’ the Connecticut SSN for Obama was given to him by the IRS, but I believe that was B.S. to setup birthers for ridicule.
It is not difficult to show that Obama uses a CT SSN ending in 4425. What is difficult (so far) is proving it used to belong someone else, or to explain how Obama came to obtain that particular Connecticut -4425 number.
The Ludwig connection keeps showing up here at FR weekly, but with apparently no new evidence being shared.
The Ludwig claim can be proven or disproven rather easily, for about $12 (plus whatever transcation fees VitalChek asks).
Persons who knew Ludwig can also be located, given some effort.
The risk/reward ratio to these efforts could be exceptionally high. Why not redirect energies to follow-up research, rather than discourage them?
I'll think about it. What is really stupid is to rush headlong where angels fear to tread.
There's something very strange going on here, and it isn't all what Obama may or may not be hiding. Most people on both sides are afraid to even try to look at both sides of it. That almost bothers me more.

No just stated he spent time in Pakistan with the passport. The whole debate on whether an American could travel there at that time I’ve never found a clear answer on. He may have also been abroad somewhere doing correspondence courses for Columbia.
And there lies the problem with this hypothesis. Where did the Ludwig name come from? If it was merely from one legal source which I will not name specifically, but who is all too happy to put things out on the web before scrutinizing them aka researching to make sure they are fact not fiction, then remain I seated high up on the electrical pole as not to get hit in the face with egg.
