Italian Historian Says Homosexuality Destroyed Rome ZOT!
The Eponymous Flower ^ | 04/10/11 | Tancred

Editor: They've done quite a job on the Catholic Church already.

Does anyone remember when Richard Nixon discussed one of the redeeming features of the Soviet Union as being its antipathy of homosexuals when he was talking in his office about Archie Bunker, said exactly the same thing? [Warning, fowl language, blasphemy] At first he starts demurring, saying he has no moral objections to homosexuality, then goes on to say that the immorality actually destroys societies. It's also interesting that Nixon's off-color comments are made much of when figures like Gandhi and Voltaire get away with it. Of course, apologists for Richard Nixon won't defend what Nixon was saying, they'll just argue that times, and morals, have changed, and if you know anything about principles, it's an indefensible position to take, but anyway.

Of course, never mind Richard Nixon, despite the fact that he's correct. Let another voice speak by way of a message from Bminormass on 'www.fisheaters.com", who said in his book, "Life is Worth Living" on P. 260, where he quotes the sociologist, Dr. Sorokin, who said:

Is that what you are afraid of happening with Oberon’s blog? I am so sorry that happened to you, Salamander. Fill me in on the details of how he got access to your bank account.

Whomever you are, if you want to participate in this thread, then I strongly suggest that you log in under your real FR identity and take your lumps like the rest of us. If you want to play Admin Mod, then do so quietly and stop distracting yourself by rolling on the floor with the dogs when you ought to be watching the entire site.

I agree, Bean Counter.

And removing lighthearted, innocuous comments from a thread that aren't offensive in any way (lots of them!) looks more like someone with an axe to grind than a forum moderator.

If you're someone who has a problem with us, I say log in under your FR name and deal with it head on.

Using the Mod cloak in a vindictive manner just looks makes you look cowardly.

I used to enjoy the Mods.

Now...there seems to be one I don't enjoy so much.

It was not 0beron who hacked my bank account.

How that team of hacker maggots got access is none of your business.

[but there’s still the issue of my personal email address that’s attached to a Google business account being harvested by 0beron’s blog...now *why* would he want that?]

The bank manager just so happens to be a biker friend of ours.

ALL our accounts are now watched 24/7 for “unusual activity” by her and the bank security system.

She’s very good at what she does although it can be a pain in the ass getting an 8am call wanting to know if a charge we made is legit or not before they let it go through.

This particular “MOD” appears to be someone who has reason to hold a personal grudge against at least one of us and abuses their “scheduled authority” to avenge old wounds received whilst posting under their “regular” user name on completely blog-unrelated threads.

Very petty and unprofessional....but not surprising, considering.

I had a comment yanked yesterday and I wondered why. Now this thread looks like swiss cheese.

Are the mods turning into critics? Or censors?

Indeed. I believe I counted 21 deleted comments.

Something is up for sure. Sheesh

JIM ROBINSON WROTE:

Believe it or not, once upon a time vanities were frowned upon by our participants. FR’s original format was established to not only fight for liberty and against government abuse/corruption, etc, but to criticize the liberally biased mainstream media. Therefore our original format was to post from valid NEWS sources and government reports, etc, and to tear them down where deserved. Vanity posters were shunned (unless they were very good).

Then a few years ago the blogger craze started. At first, most of them were treated simply as vanities and were pulled or zotted on sight. Eventually some were accepted as valid material on FR. And soon the blogger wars commenced. To allow blogs or not to allow blogs was the question. Can’t go blanket either way. Like it or not, some blogs are better than most others.

So, long story short, we created a special forum for blog posts. This was in lieu of simply deleting all blog posts. The theory was that as long as they were posted in the bloggers forum, those who didn’t wish to read them could simply click on the “news” forum and they wouldn’t see them. But, of course, as some blogs are definitely better than most others and some are much better than your typical mainstream news sources, we soon allowed certain blogs to be posted regularly to the news section.

This all worked more or less to a certain degree without too much friction until the non-commenting, short-excerpting, long-complaining blog pimp was born.

I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

If a blogger can’t or refuses do that, and if he constantly complains or fights with our participants over it, then I’d just as soon he doesn’t post here. It’s not my job to make his content or his presentation or cooperation acceptable to our readers. That’s his job. And if he cannot do it or refuses to do it and continues posting brief excerpts only and obviously attempting to draw away our participants while loudly complaining about it, then I have no sympathy for his complaints and the more apt I am to ban his account and blog.

Furthermore, I’m not big on “rules.” You won’t see me posting rules for bloggers. The rules for bloggers on FR are the same as the rules for everyone else. If you are a good conservative activist and are willing to work with US on OUR goals and causes and not against US, then you’re welcome to post to FR. But unless we say otherwise your blog material should be posted to our bloggers forum and it would be best if you do not excerpt your own material and if you would actually join in on the discussion here on FR. We’re not really that interested in driving OUR traffic to YOUR blog. But if our readers see that you post useful information then they might start reading your site and that’s fine by me.

I cannot believe you zapped my posts at 91, 92 and 174.

You have obviously lost it and really shouldn’t be a Mod. I don’t know what your axe is that you are grinding but you can’t give a blogger an open and free pass to go past Go and not let us in on your reasoning.

They don’t pay for anything around and if you let one blog pimp go with your blessing you will need to let them all go and then Free Republic will cease to exist.

It will be Mod Republic and Blog Central.
***********************************************************
Are you out of your mind?

Here it is again:

You kidding right?

No one is trying to bait him. He’s already troll bait.

He’s blog pimping with excerpts and for the life of me I don’t get how you just defacto handed him the imprimatur to continue.

Is FR fair game for pimps now? If it is, then FR is going to be absolutely run over by these intellectual hacks who are trying to start a side business and leveraging FR as their personal “Free” resource.

We pay to keep the lights on around here and keep the place ad free and when JR asks for a little more, we don’t gripe, we pitch in.

It is unfair and should be unacceptable for blog pimps to post unless they are going to post the entire content of their thoughts.

If their writing is good enough then people will be compelled to read their site.

If it’s not, well then that should be a sign their writing isn’t very interesting and won’t hold up in the market place.

Free Republic is not an investor in blog pimps and I ask you to reconsider your stance on blog pimps.

Thanks.
