FIRED COLONEL FILES FOR DIVORCE - ACCUSES WIFE OF KIDNAPPING TEENAGE SON AND TEACHING MILITARY SPOUSES ABOUT "MASTURBATION" - SHE COUNTERS WITH ACCUSATION HE SPENT $27,000 ON IRAQI "MISTRESS" - WIFE KICKED OFF BASE IN ITALY - WEST POINT GRAD COL JAMES JOHNSON RELIEVED AS COMMANDER OF 173RD AIRBORNE BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM FOR "ADULTERY" AND "FOSTERING A POOR COMMAND CLIMATE" - ARMY TRIED TO KEEP A LID ON WHAT HAPPENED BUT MILITARYCORRUPTION.COM SEES COURT PAPERS

In what has to be a huge black eye for the Army, yet another West Point graduate (Class of 1986) finds himself in hot water, and this time the public affairs office and the Pentagon can't cover it up.

You will recall we here at MilitaryCorruption.com reported in late March that hard-charging Col. James Johnson, then-commander of the famed 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, had been suddenly relieved of command. We also told you the "announcement" was made late in the day on Friday to try and hold down media coverage of what now looks to be one of the most embarrassing scandals to hit the Green Machine in years.

MilitaryCorruption.com has seen papers filed in federal court in New York that are so salacious and filled with fantastic charges that one might think it were a script for a made-for-tv movie. But this isn't "fiction" folks. All this stuff has a large element of truth.

BIZARRE CAST OF CHARACTERS IN TRUE-LIFE DRAMA

The "characters" are the obnoxious, shaven-headed, beady-eyed colonel - a West Point graduate and son of a general - who has an affair with an Iraqi woman, spends some $27,000 on "gifts" for his mistress - and has his wife kicked off the military base they lived on in Italy.

In an incredible example of hubris, Col. Johnson has filed for divorce from his wife, claiming she was "a disruptive influence" at the base in Vicenzia; "acted like she was a colonel herself" and taught military spouses about "masturbation." Kristina Johnson was ordered removed as senior advisor to the 173rd's Family Readiness Group by her hubby of 23 years.

Accused of kidnapping their 16 year-old son (who now stays at his maternal grandparent's home in upstate New York) and being "rude to military spouses" - we thought wearing your husband's rank and being a screaming shrew were "perks" most wives of military colonels and generals enjoyed - Kristina has filed for divorce herself.

Court papers show that she tried to get her husband to break off the relationship with the Iraqi girlfriend, but Col. Johnson refused to do so. Kristina claimed she found numerous erotic e-mails between the senior Army commander and his whore. In the documents, Mrs. Johnson said she agreed to delete the incriminating e-mail messages if her husband would stop seeing his young gal pal. He agreed, but soon went back to contacting his lover.

Mrs. Johnson took her son to the States and Col. Johnson went into court, citing the Hague Convention, charging his wife with forcing the underage boy to go back to the USA. That case was thrown out in February. The divorce actions in each case, however, are ongoing.

COLONEL ACTED LIKE HE "ABOVE THE LAW"

Col. Johnson is hardly one to be a self-righteous prig. His feigned revulsion at wife teaching other military spouses about "masturbation," is hilarious in view of his documented infidelities and brazen behavior.

In our initial story on Col Johnson, we suggested he put in his (retirement) papers and quietly slink away. Now that we are up to speed on just what he did to get himself in so much trouble, we feel the only way the Army can begin to regain confidence from it's enlisted men and women is to court-martial this out-of-control officer as soon as possible.

We are not saying Johnson's Iraqi girlfriend is a security risk, but he has shown exceedingly bad judgment all around. Let's hope that when he is convicted, it will send a message that high-ranking officers in the Army are at least some times, accountable for the crimes they commit. We know in the Air Force, "stars" are like free passes to stay out of jail.

Sounds like some kind of a perverted version of "Peyton Place" or "Divorce Court" on TV---2 shows my parents told me I could never watch (not that I had an interest). We should be thankful no one has been shot or any animals were hurt in the production of this theatrical drama of the absurd.

I’ve heard many stories about Iraqi elders trying to give their daughters away to American officers. With no regard to whether or not the Americans are married...

Like the old story of the cat and the railroad track, and losing his head over a little piece of tail.

My mother-in-law, (career military wife and mother of 4 vets) used to tell me that any military base had a lot in common with Peyton Place.

I never saw anything to disprove her statement.

The writer of this piece is a bit over-the-top.
If there is corruption, then expose it - the editorial carping does nothing but make the reader skeptical and more likely to presume the writer has a giant chip on his shoulder and an axe to grind.

West Point has graduated about 25,000 officers in the 25 years since 1986. Occasionally one of them proves to be a real louse. There is not much news in that.

Yep, and it cuts both ways. I grew up in a military town, and it’s amazing how many temporarily single women fill up the bars and night clubs when the troops go down range. I can’t count the women friends took home (I of course was a virgin a until my second marriage) only to find out that they were married the next day.

Yes, and some of the stories that Glenn and GENERAL GENOVESE exposed were (and are) important. You are being dismissive of their hard work. Sure, this story smacks of Peyton Place but other stories like the horrible Major Jill Metzger scandal deserve to see the light of day.

He's got an axe to grind. He's made it clear in the past he hates flag officers and has already gotten banned once.

He should declare he is gay. Given where things are heading, it couldn’t hurt.

Oh my goodness.

Very true. Was at am ‘accompanied’ base overseas. Wow

Everybody was doing everybody and divorce/marriage was as common as the sunrise.

The whole place was like a huge spin-the-bottle game.

Weird. Glad I was born a naïve prude and stayed away from all that stuff. Although, I was extremely tempted a couple of times.

It took all I had, but I never could cheat, and I never could do another man’s wife. Lord knows....man, she definitely wanted to, I wanted to...hardest thing I ever had to not do. I was almost crying from the strain.

And 6 months later when she started naming names and dragging people into court, I was thanking God that I was not involved.

That is when I learned that sex is a legally significant event.
I did the right thing.

But Military Corruption Dot Com was started by a Flag Officer back in July 2000-—Brig. Gen. Peter Genovese! How can a General hate himself? You make no sense!

In this case the big PR cover up failed.

When that happens, it is news.
