"The simple fact that America's previously unparalleled financial status among nations has been teetering on a precipice of insolvency should have been enough to spark Obama and the Democrats into extreme action long ago. Even cutting $100 billion, under these current conditions, is not nearly enough in the face of $ 1.6 trillion annual shortfall and a $ 14 trillion overall deficit; however, our fearless leaders settled on a paltry $ 38.5 billion in cuts. Yet, the numbers, which these Politico's keep agreeing upon, is nowhere near what will actually be required to achieve some form of deficit equilibrium.

Ahh...umm.., Not sure. Good question. Maybe that's left to be seen.
At any rate, the outcome is similar.
The real problem is that people don’t understand how capitalism relates to the government and the economy.
The government’s role in a true capitalist system is to serve as a mediator between various businesses. If there is a case of fraud between two enterprises, for instance the government’s job is to settle the problem out without preference to either party.
However, this is where the main problem in America’s system is, specific businesses have developed biased relationships with specific political interests, you can’t have an effective mediation from the government when a business entity is unfairly favored. This includes the relationship between Democratic causes and the financial sector or GOP causes and the mineral resources industries. Not to say that this is all bad, there is fault both ways for sending and receiving, but we should make a check every now and then as our government is supposed to be above these entities in handling disputes.
