USA beats UBL in Sudden Death Overtime…Now Please Explain That Last Play (vanity)
(vanity)

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still cheering for Team USA in the daring Mayday raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. And it was the President that first used a football analogy, when comparing a release of UBL’S death photos to “spiking the football.” (Did a coach that called a winning play ever spike a football?). But this whole operation needs more explanation, and so far, we’ve only heard from had the Gang That Couldn’t Spin Straight.

The whole thing brings to mind the double-reverse, “flea-flicker” play used on September 24, 1978, by the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers against the undefeated (and leading) Cleveland Browns. In what the Steelers consider their fifth greatest play ever, an overtime “trick play” baffled and surprised the opponent, and the Steelers advanced all the way to the Superbowl.

The flea-flicker was a play dusted off from high-school fields, legal but obscure enough that on the next day, during Monday Night Football, attorney-turned-sportscaster Howard Cosell explained it in some detail. Cosell gave a walk-through of the whole play. And people accepted that. No one thought it was outside the rules, it was just so seldom-seen in the NFL that it needed explanation.

Now I’m glad we got Bin Laden. I just want the walk-through of the play, because I remember the Gipper himself forbidding assassinations, by Executive Order 12333. I thought that play was no longer legal. If the President ordered Americans to kill Bin Laden, it seems to me he signed a no-knock death warrant, possibly extra-jurisdictional and even extra-Constitutional. Can the President order an assassination now? If so, America has crossed a sort of moral Rubicon. What exactly does that order say?

Maybe the Attorney General will give the Cosell-like explanation of the play. Oh, wait, he’s pursuing another Navy Seal for punching a terrorist. Punch a terrorist in the face – investigation; shoot a terrorist in the face – commendation. Is that the rule? Or is it a sliding scale based on the target to be taken out. That’s like a game warden himself poaching a deer because the rack was just too large to wait for a lawful kill.

Obama was a Constitutional law professor (or senior lecturer, or something). He can explain it. But he vowed to close the facility where these people were supposed to be tried, and repudiated harsh techniques against these people.

I applaud the win, but we need to here that it was not only effective but legal. So who’s left to give the walk-through? We deserve one. Paging Howard Cosell.

So who’s left to give the walk-through?

If it helps obama get reelected - you get a medal

If it hurts obama in getting reelected - you get jail

Simple.

I’ve got a whole truckload of questions.

My newest question is why was a guy in the area tweeting about the noise from the same stealth helicopters that snuck up on Bin Laden?

Excellent “vanity”. It deserves to be a column in the Main Stream Media. Of course, such questions will never see the light of day. Not in the Obamanation known as “America”.

The entire OBL story stinks from top to bottom. To be frank I don’t believe it. I do believe OBL is dead, but I’m not buying the Story the White House keeps changing. There are so many holes in this it’s unreal.

Now let’s say for argument sakes everything is as the President has calmed, but it’s a SNAFU situation. Do you really need to know all the details of our Navy Seals and what they did? I don’t want to know or need to know. All we need to know is that OBL is no more. We are putting them at risk by telling the who, what, when, where why and how.

I do find it funny how Obama on one hand said I’m not going to spike the ball. But that is exactly what he is doing on his little tour.

Allow my to provide my view:

Law does not apply in this case. OBL and his tribe declared and infected war upon us, and as you know, war is the absence of law. Now our civilization has laid out rules of war that we normally try mightily to follow, but for both sides the objective is WE WIN - THEY LOSE.

If they want to be subject to the law, they must forgo their waging of war. Put down their weapons and surrender, and they will once more be subject to the law. Simple.
