Barnicle exemplifies the old expression, “Takes one to know one”.

“I will go on record now. Newt will be the Republican nominee.

Don’t get out much, do ya? “

Ok let’s here your prediction. Who do you think and why?

For all the "Palin is unelectable" drones, the very fact that state-run media obsesses over her tells you who they fear.

You gotta ask yourself: "Why are they so afraid of her?"

The answer, of course, is because they know that she is eminently electable, and that her election would mark the beginning of the end of their authoritarian-socialist dreams.

ineluctable

I do like Palin but first step is to announce and get in the race. She can’t win if she’s not in and my feeling now is that she will not run. I don’t think she even wants to run. She seems to be happy as a player in the party and helping others get elected. I could be wrong but on a personal level I think she’s done with public office.

The one thing about Palin and Bachmann is that they both know we’ve never had a woman as president. Hillary was as close as we’ve come and she was easily knocked out by Obama who NO ONE in either party including his own camp thought he actually had a chance.

The voters just tried out the “first black president”. I would be worried they are done experimenting.

Yes, Gingrich is a very smart guy and would undoubtedly be a great improvement over Obama. But the sad fact is just about no one likes him. He has zero charisma, and he’s not likely to acquire any in the near future. He would be great as an advisor, but I’d guess that’s something he doesn’t want.

Since you know so much about political strategy, perhaps you should run.

Nobody has declared because they all know it's hers if she wants it. Since it is hers, she can bide her time.

The longer she waits, the shorter the window of opportunity for state-run media and their ape-shit attacks on her and her family.

I disagree, Newt brings many good ideas to the race and he is a smart guy, he will elevate the conversation and has, already, challenged Obama on many issue that other people will not or have not, brought up. I still like Reagan’s advice about not knocking our own, stop the nasties and start listening to common sense, Newt has much to offer and I will wait to see how he does. I haven’t decided who the best candidate is but I am not closed-minded and childish. Let’s support all our candidates, listen to their ideas and then support whomever we believe will represent our conservative ideals. Fortunately, we have many, many great candidates out there, from Palin to Romney and Paul to Bachman and even the outspoken Trump.

You must have missed it. Newt has announced he is a candidate for President of the United States. No exploratory committee. He’s in and running. So no it’s not “hers” by any means. So bottom line, she’s not in and my opinion is I don’t think she will run.

As far as me running. I will not be a candidate for president in 2012. Hopefully that will end all the rumors. LOL !

You must have missed it. Newt has announced he is a candidate for President of the United States.

You have a short attention span, don't you?

Newt had his chance in 1994, and pissed it away.

He is damaged goods, just like Mittens.

Nothing is going to change that.

People have memories, and memories of Newt are very painful.

Gingrich ‘a delusional loser’ says ‘Morning Joe’ co-host Mike Barnicle

Hum. Is that an original thought from Barnicle, or did he copy it from someone else?

And how ironic for Barnicle to be calling anyone a loser.

Smart assessment. I have had my issues with Newt and so have my friends but my best friend and I were just discussing yesterday we might kiss and make up with Newt. Say what you will he is the smartest guy in the room, he is a Constitutionalist and a Constitutional expert. He also has some extremely good ideas about job creation and he’s willing to drill. I think he’s probably over global warming and I guess I can forget about Dede Scuzzafuva and move forward.

If you saw Newt on Hannity last night he was pretty energized and he was detailed on the things he would do right off the bat. I like the idea that he will post Executive Orders in advance of taking office. Once the debates start Newt will shine as always and a lot of the folks here on FR who are saying “no way” will be getting on board. We need a winner. BHO has got to go.

Does anybody really want TPaw, Mitt, Mitch or Santorum?

“You have a short attention span, don’t you?”

Well a short attention span is better than no attention span.

You said the reason no one had declared is that the nomination is Palins if she wants it. That’s just factually wrong. Now pay attention. Newt Gingrich has Officially announced he IS a candidate for 2012. Sarah has not announced to my knowledge and at this point, like her or not , I don’t think she’s going to run.

This race is currently between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

“Well, they better hope not,” Barnicle said. “He is a delusional loser with an intellectual chip on his shoulder. That might be his biggest handicap in terms of the public. He has this habit, this way of prattling on about all of the ideas, all of the new ideas that he comes up with for our political system. And it’s because probably he went to like East Overshoe College or something and wants to prove that he’s smarter than anybody from the Northeast – from Harvard. He is just ridiculous. This is ridiculous. His candidacy is a joke.”

Barnicle is exactly correct. Accuracy trumps "civility."

So am I.

It has the same amount of importance.

Now go get your Newt kneepads on and service him.

The fact is Gingrich has been around a long time and engenders practically no enthusiasm from anybody. Some candidates inspire. Reagan, to pick the best example, got many conservatives juices flowing. I’d love to have voted for Barry Goldwater. But Gingrich inspires practically nobody. That’s the sad facts. I like Sarah Palin, but it’s not like it has to be her or I’m not voting. Just saying Newt has a high unlikability quotient and a bland personality that is working against him. A lot of people don’t like Palin, but there a lot of people who will work very hard to get her elected. I doubt the same can be said for Newt.

Clearly a negative image but not a deal breaker. He will have a chance to answer if this comes up. He will say Nancy Pelosi’s policies are completely wrong and destructive, which is the correct answer.

Even Bush was seen with Ted Kennedy. It does NOT mean he agreed with the swimmer.
