US Eases Iranian Student Visa Rules

WASHINGTON — US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Friday the United States is easing visa terms for Iranian students here as part of efforts to support their aspirations for political change back home. In what she called a "big step forward" in the Obama administration support's for Iran's people, Clinton said Iranian students and exchange visitors are now eligible for two-year, multiple entry visas.

"This gives young Iranians the opportunity to return home for family events, to participate in internships, to travel outside the United States -- and they won't need to get a new visa every time," she said in a statement.

The chief US diplomat said many Iranian students and Iranian Americans had asked for a change to the old policy where students and exchange visitors were eligible only for three-month, single-entry visas...

Just what we need: more Iranians. Sent, no doubt, by their government for several nefarious purposes. After they get their education here, they can all get jobs at DHS.

And that is an understatement. I am beginning to think there is not a single member of this administration with working brain parts.

In my opinion and I’m sure that I am not alone, there is no one; I repeat, no one in this Regime with brain cells that function and that includes this Congress and 95% of the last Congress.

If we don’t fix this in 2012, we’re flushed down the toilet bowl.

United States is easing visa terms for Iranian students here as part of efforts to support their aspirations for political change back home. In what she called a "big step forward" in the Obama administration support's for Iran's people,

This move will NOT support political change nor "Iran's people". Most Iranian students who can afford the $$$ to study & live abroad are those who come from affluent families with direct ties to the Mullahs' Regime in Iran. Very often these 'students' are sponsored (on scholarships) by the Regime in Iran. In fact, most are sent to western countries as 'students' to infiltrate the Iranian community abroad, spy on their activities, intimidate them & report back to the Regime on those Iranians who are genuinely anti-regime.

Moreover, it can be difficult to conduct sound background checks on those 'students' who originate from Iran.

It is a similar situation with Saudi students. However, A difference is that the Saudis are more likely to act as "sleeper cells" & plan actual acts of terrorism, outside the 'Saudi-community' abroad, particularly in the US.

After 9/11, U.S. gave more visas to Saudi students

Excerpts from linked article: Aldawsari was one of more than 10,000 Saudi students granted student visas in 2008, an NBC News analysis of the visa program shows.

Indeed, the number of Saudi students approved for entry into the United States has jumped more than fourfold since 15 young Saudis helped carry out the attacks on the United States on Sept. 11, 2001. At the same time, visas granted to other Middle East nations dropped often precipitously or remained at the same level.

The analysis shows that 26,744 Saudi students received US F-1 and F-2 visas in 2010, up from 6,836 in 2001. The numbers have steadily increased as the Kingdom has provided financing for students, believing the students' exposure to the U.S. and its education system would help US-Saudi relations.

While overall non-immigrant visas from Saudi has dropped during the period from 2001 to 2010, the education visas have skyrocketed, in large part, say U.S.officials, because of the King Abdullah Scholarship program which sponsored Aldawsari.

Thanks Cindy. That will help the Obama administration in its efforts to support the mullahcracy by tracking their activities and sending the reports to Tehran.
