“He has no f**king idea what the world is like.” Gene summed up Barry’s view of the world nicely

Sorry that I hijacked the thread and went on to talk about slavery in America.

However, on the thread topic all I can say is that Obama now has Gene's KISS of death and I hope that is true for the other entertainers and supporters of the idiot in the White House

Gene wakes up.

Maybe he’ll influence some of his fans to vote against Obama.

That’s a good thing, right?

Thank you so much for providing that resource. I can’t seem to establish any credentials for the author though. The name is listed in Wikipedia but this particular work is not listed (interesting). It is the same person because other works cross reference between his website and Wikipedia (not the greatest source but the only one I found outside of his). Nevertheless I will read this with great interest.

It’s interesting that you point out the ‘treatment’ of blacks after slavery as being a reason for the current tensions. I haven’t heard that viewpoint before and anytime a black is spewing victim-hatred, they continually point to slavery.

I have never felt guilt. Ever. First of all, the obvious reason is that we (as in the generations following the civil war) did not participate in the deplorable practice of slavery and as you pointed out, very few blacks (no matter what they say) can actually lay claim to a relative that was a slave. Secondly, the blacks have had more opportunity to rise above the past, than anyone. And yet, they are still a race that refuses (overall) to take advantage of those opportunities.

Discrimination on the other hand has been practiced. But, the practice is to ‘blame ALL white people’ which is a lie from hell. I have never discriminated...never.; so I resent the implication deeply. The ironic thing is, that by screaming discrimination and hearing it for so many years, it’s now cultivating discrimination in my thinking. I resent the hell out of the accusations and despise the fact that I’ve been lumped in with a small group of idiot whites so now, when I see a black...my first thoughts are now about the claims they continue to make and a slow boil begins.

Since you apologized...well I guess I’m sorry as well. But isn’t it all (race, voting etc) connected? And shouldn’t we find out where it was that it connected? Anyway, I apologize for focusing on the slavery issue.

I love Gene, he’s a mensch. The only fault I found was that he said he thinks BHO means well and that he’s a “good guy”.

I already knew he voted for Hopey-Changey, but at least GS now sees O’s a schmuck.

“Obama wants Israel dead.”

If Gene ever realizes that - he’s extremely smart so maybe he’ll start seeing a pattern here if he takes time to observe - that’d be the deal-breaker for him. His mother (whom he treasures) is a concentration camp survivor. He wept at the Anne Frank House and museum.

After watching and learning more about GS the last few years, I think he’s a great guy, and the exact opposite of his stage rocker persona. He was raised well, with good values, and in turn has raised his son and daughter to be wonderful young adults. But most of all, he’s unashamedly patriotic and has a deep (and vocal) love of this country.

All of this. He is such an unabashed capitalist and patriot that I was completely shocked when I heard that he voted for Bozo in 08. At least he is partially righting that wrong by not only publicly admitting that it was a mistake but also calling out the TOTUS on his disgusting policy in a way that even the most brain-dead voter can understand.

I've never been part of any Kiss Army or a huge fan but I have much respect for how Gene. I guess socially he has too much of a libertarian tilt and will be bashed by the pious types regardless. Whatever. I don't agree with some of his social positions but Hollywood would be a much better place if there were more Gene Simmons/Shannon Tweed types and fewer Tim Robbins/Susan Sarandon types IMO.

Usually I prefer the entertainment types to just "shut up and sing" but since the ones on the left will not, it would be nice if more of those on the right would speak out. Unfortunately there is a large segment of the electorate who base their vote on Justin Bieber's endorsement and more balance of voices/ideas would be nice.

He got sucked in by the “hope and change” and also, being aware of prejudice against minorities (his mom was a concentration camp survivor, I believe), he wanted to vote for the first black president.

Idealistic but stupid, he now realizes.

Well it was just reposted a day or two ago on youtube, so more should see it, maybe as we are now closer to an election it will get more play. I missed it the first time around, and only saw it because my teen daughter came across it and shared it with me. May sway a sheep or two!
