Fox Ups The Ante Against Governor Palin (Now calls her "Contributor Palin")
Sheya.com ^ | Thursday June 2, 2011 | Sheya

Earlier today in a post titled: With Friends Like Fox News Palin Is Better Off With Her Enemies, I wrote about how Fox News is out to take down Governor Palin. I wrote (Emphesis added):

Fox wants Palin out but they don’t want to suspend her contract because by doing so they’ll be conceding that she’s a serious contender. Fox won’t do anything that would lend her credibility. They just want her to resign. The tactic now is to makePalin’s life as difficult and as miserable as possible until Palin just gets frustrated and leaves on her own citing irreconcilable differences. Things are going to get worse. Fox is about to up the ante and it’s going to get ugly.

It didn’t take long. After meeting with Governor Palin yesterday Fox decided to up the ante today. Talking to Carl Cameron on his show today, Shepard Smith announced that fox will now be referring to Governor Palin as “Contributor Palin”.

"Our chief political correspondent, Carl Cameron live tonight, Seacoast New Hampshire. Carl, you are at a what a Clambake with Governor Palin, I should say Contributor Palin"

Later at the 1:08 mark, Shep officially runs with the new title:

"Surprised at all Carl, you have been doing this for decades, surprised at all that “Contributor Palin” would take this shot at the same day that the former Massachusetts Governor announced his candidacy."

So Governor Palin is Contributor Palin now, while Romney is the Former Governor of Massachusetts. Nice.

If you had any doubts of what Fox is up to this should put all those doubts to rest. Fox is out to sabotage Governor Palin. It’s time Palin got out of there, fast.

If she sticks around, that’s her problem.

Ugh. How ridiculous, and to have Shep do that.

So, Roger--buy her out and quit trying to bully her. Sheesh. First you dump Beck's show, now Palin...do you really think all the heat will stop there? It's YOU they want to take down, and the whole network!

Roger Ailes, quit acting like a eunuch.

“Contributor Palin”

That’s a joke!

Kind of like “Citizen Kane” or “Chairman Ailes”

Maybe eventually just plain “Comrade”

I’m laughing at the pitiful idiocy of FOX news which I virtually have stopped watching

I guess that gains them some kind of parity with the other networks

Fox likes the ratings that “real citizens” have brought them, but they can drop the ball just like the rest of the MSM. If they do, then they deserve what they get.

The elitists all suck.

Whatever they may be calling her, they are sill keeping her on. They did not allow other perspective candidates to stay on when it they were getting ready to run for office. In exchange, she is brining in ratings for them. It is a quid pro quo. Of course they are referring to her as “contributer” Palin, it underlines the fact that she is a Fox News employee and makes Palin’s publicity Fox’s publicity. The notion that she is not playing ball with Fox management is ludicrous as Fox has a practical exclusive of covering her tour. It might as well be called the Fox/Palin tour.

It doesn’t look like Sarah is letting FOX or anything else make her life too miserable.

Is it just Shep using this term? Or have others been doing it? I know they all use the disclaimer when talking or reporting on her and say she is a contributor to FNC.

Hooking up w faux news looks like a mistake, but when they out themselves, like this, it’s virtually Sun Zhu like when she cuts ties and shows them for what they are. There’s a higher power behind Palin, just like there’s a higher power behind the none.

I think it’s time we let Fox know that we’re fed up with much of there coverage. Greta is about the only worthwhile thing on that channel anymore with Beck’s imminent departure. Bret Baier is also quite good, but the people on his panel are a joke.

I say we all start watching CNN in protest. If I’m going to get this anti-palin, anti-conservative crap I might as well get it from a channel that truly loathes her even more than Fox.

This is strange because I posted on a Palin thread a couple of days ago that the only way we may know that Palin is no longer with Fox is when they stop calling her a "Fox News Contributor".

She may have asked for this change. We just don't know...

Yet so many Freepers think that Fox News is the cat's meow and a bastion of conservative news reporting.

In Fox’s defense they need to distance themselves from her. Because, when she does announce her run they will have to sever ties and be as objective as possible . The Dems will be on both of them like white on rice looking for campaign violations even if they have to make them up.

Greta treats Governor Palin with disdain every time she interviews her. She tries to make it seem like Governor Palin ‘doesn’t get it’ and is condescending...and her body language is reprehensible when she’s interviewing Governor Palin.

So are they going to start calling Gov. Huckleberry Hound “Contributor” Huckleberry Hound?

I think that if she quits Fox she just plays into their hand. Then she’d be labeled a double-quitter. First Alaska and now Fox. Nope, I think she should stay connected, do things her way, and irritate Fox, et al’s chronic case of reda$$ until it’s unbearable for them.........and then agree to leave if she gets a humongous severance package with all the details out in the open so Fox can’t badmouth her leaving!
