Surprise! Sarah Palin Was Right About Paul Revere
Le-gal In-sur-rec-tion ^ | June 3, 2011 | Prof. William Jacobson

Not having any real reason to look into it any deeper, Sarah Palin's statement that Revere warned the British that the colonial militias were waiting seemed odd.

But it appears that the popular version is not complete.

In fact, as pointed out at Conservatives4Palin, Revere did in fact tell the British that the colonial militias, who had been alerted, were waiting for them. Here is the original historical text written by Revere (spelling in original, bold added):

"I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from,& what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he asked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up. He imediately rode towards those who stoppd us, when all five of them came down upon a full gallop; one of them, whom I afterwards found to be Major Mitchel, of the 5th Regiment, Clapped his pistol to my head, called me by name, & told me he was going to ask me some questions, & if I did not give him true answers, he would blow my brains out. He then asked me similar questions to those above. He then orderd me to mount my Horse, after searching me for arms. . ."

It is unfortunate that no matter how stupid the things coming out of the mouth of the Washington elite or the media they are given a pass. Mitt Romney expresses support for state run healthcare, he supports using resources to combat global warming, and doesn’t seem to have any reservations concerning the ultimate scope of government yet no one dares question his intelligence? The same goes for the left, they believe the most ignorant things. They believe babies are a choice not a blessing, they believe gender is something that is decided rather than something that is, they believe what a man or woman earns is something to be redistributed, and that isn’t even going deep in the weeds with the left. Palin has been criticized for having birther support but dare they analyze what the left who supports Obama believes? The truth is even the conservative media is derilict in the duty of analyzing such things. I don’t play that game. I know who the enemy is and that enemey may be Havard educated but it is the source of an idiocy that is destorying this nation and believes things that even the mentally inept would never believe or accept.

Joy Behar is snarking on her F/B page and when I went there and posted what she had just heard from the guide at the Old North Church, the liberals heads almost exploded. Especially when I pointed out the 57 states, Austwitz, and the Selma Bridge faux paws, and then went to to discuss Sheila Jackson Lee not knowing the commies had retaken Viet Nam, Johnson’s Guam is going to tip over, and the majority of democrats don’t understand the tax code...

Sarah as she always does and is always successful set-up the liberals and the MSM my recounting a very accurate account of Paul Revere’s even more accurate than Longfellow who in his poem did not mention Paul’s direct contact with the British troops or the bells that Revere rang.

This, from the guide’s reding: The messengers cried out the alarm, awakening every house, warning of the British column making its way towards Lexington. In the rider’s wake there erupted the peeling of church bells, the beating of drums and the roar of gun shots - all announcing the danger and calling the local militias to action.

Never heard that before.

Too kool, if true!

I heard on the Glenn Beck show that one of the riders was a black man.

I believe it was the 12 year old son of a free black farmer. David Barton's Wallbuilders site probably has the info.

You can forget trying to explain TRUTH, and historical fact to the left, and to the media. All they care about is the narrative.

The problem isn’t the TRUTH, or even historical fact, folks. It’s the NARRATIVE.

I have seen people who don’t pay much attention to politics at all posting this on Facebook, and the narrative sticks, no matter what you try to say to them. They saw it on TV, so it’s GOT to be the truth.

Such is the world in which we live, now.

I liked the Beck show about the history of slave ownership, and indentured servitude. The first slave owner in the US was a servant who bought his freedom and bought a slave.

They slave and owner were both Eric Holder’s people.

Oh please don’t overreact.

I haven’t seen evidence of Sarah Palin being treated disrespectfully on FR. The only things that have been said was that some don’t think she’s their candidate of choice.

That’s the nature of poliics, we all have our favourites.

It’s only a set up if she comes out ahead...and as of today, I have seen nothing but the stories about her screwing up...if nobody reports the truth and only her supporters know it, then it’s not a win for her..it’s a loss.

I’ve only been here for a couple of month and nice bit on accusing me of being a liar, but whatever.

I haven’t seen any, as I would define an attack. I’ve read people saying that she might need more experience or that she’d be better off running for another elected office or that they prefer another candidates.

These aren’t attacks. You’ve made these evaluations yourself about other candidates.

An attack is a driven and personalized comment that is meant to damage somebody. For example, “Sarah is a dishonest quitter, because she quit her term as governor halfway. She probably does drugs.”

Commenting on her finishing her term early is not an attack, but accusing her of doing drugs is, because there was no basis for accusing her of doing drugs.

Then I respectfully remove the option of you being a liar.

Do yourself a favor and read more of the Sarah threads, they are very enlightening and should prove to you that there is plenty of "Attacks" being made against Sarah.

Several posters do nothing but troll Sarah threads to post the most thread-bare, logically void, negative statements concerning Governor Palin.
