I walked past a group of short dark gentlemen at a construction site in my neighborhood last week, a quick “Hola, La Migra”, really gets a reaction.

The other bumper sticker was the real stupid one. It said, "It wouldn't kill you to learn Spanish."

It wouldn't kill us to pay for all their medical care, schooling, and incarcerations, either. But it's not very freaking fair, either, is it?

I speak 3+ languages already. Just not Spanish.

Speaking of bumper stickers, the DNC had a beaut in 2008, “Had enough, Vote Democrat”, I’d love to have one of those now and put one next to it. “Not Stupid enough, Do it Again”

Once coming out of a 7-11 near where I live(and the Mexican illegals hang out) I had one looking at me kinda funny so I said in German “Guten tag, schissekopf!’’(Good morning sh!thead!’’) Man did he look at me weird!

LOL. Good one that I have to remember. We had a very annoying repeat caller who just liked to bug us. We got a new service that has a generic message. The next time she called, I answered with: "Vee gates" - no reply - "sprechin sie Deutsch?" Click. That was the last call we had from her.

Woman in the parking garage I use has a “Voldemort Votes Republican” bumpersticker.

I’ve had one, and only one, conversation with here. And it was about the bumpersticker. She noticed me chuckle about it and asked whether I liked it. I told her something along the lines of “Sure. Especially since its the Dems that allow illegal immigrants like Voldemort TO vote”.

She just glares at me these days ...

There’s another bumpersticker in my garage I like too, but admit that it comes out at about an 8.5 on the William Shatner “Get a Life” scale. “Phasers Don’t Kill People; Our Klingon Security Officer Kills People”.

It seems in the past ten years my wife and I have seen an unusual amount of Suburus frequently plastered with leftist slogans. I remarked on this one time, and my wife seemed surprised. So now every time we pass a Suburu without any leftist decals, she says “see, they don’t all have decals on them!” ...as if she showed me. I still guffaw loudly when we pass one with the requisite “save the earth/ whales/trees/whatever” signs covering their vehicle.

Well, I laugh at a few of my Brit in-laws, because some of them do not speak very clearly. Though in general, my Brit in-laws speak better English than we do. The "Received Pronunciation" or Tony Blair-type English is actually spoken by very few English. Most have an accent related to the area where they grew up. And every large English city or area has a different accent. Somebody speaking with the RP or "posh accent" is looked at as someone trying to put on airs. My wife comes from the Norwich area, and she still uses a few words that would not be called proper English. Of which I never forget to remind her. Naturally, she never fails to snicker at some of my Wisconsinisms.

Not far from where I live, I saw a bumpersticker (BO Shepherd Fairey style) in sepia tones, with "History" (not Hope) as the legend.

Totally true. I dated a Brit who was from Birmingham. She went to finishing schools where she acquired her BBC accent(Which I found very sexy, BTW). But when we visited her family I could barely understand them.
