“Ive notice with some liberals that they wont admit the truth about their candidate because it would admit they are wrong.”
It’s called arrogance of opinion or in the case of a union member, “group think” and most all liberals have it up to their eyeballs.
If it is any indication, I've certainly noticed quite a lot fewer autos with the ubiquitous Obama stickers here in liberal Sonoma county.
My first presidential election was 1984 and I turned 18 the prior April. Presented to me was the choice of “Fritz and Titz” or President Reagan. I pulled the lever for President Reagan without hesitation or holding my nose ! I voted for GHWB in ‘88 and I held my nose. I never liked him too much and I didn’t appreciate his jabs at Reagan such as talking about “Kinder, Gentler Nation” which IMHO was a big jab at Reagan’s no nonsense, no B.S. way of doing things. I was right about Bush Sr. especially how he caved into the democrat’s agenda and with Reagan, he wouldn’t give in to them.
There are a couple of people I would be happy to vote for and not hold my nose. Rand and Ron Paul and Sarah Palin and forgot, Herman Cain and Col. West. I don’t want another Bush, Romney or others “approved” by the establishment to be on the ticket in 2012.
Congratulations! I wish that our son would show some conservative values—but then , he’s young and stupid and at least didn’t vote for obama.
I know what you mean. I didn’t get an allowance unless I worked for it.
From the time I was 10 years old, I worked at my Dad’s Gas Station on Saturdays to “earn” my allowance.
One Saturday, when I was twelve, I was complaining to one of my Dad’s employees that my friends were all having fun while I had to work that day. All of a sudden my Dad taps me on the shoulder and tells me “Nobody owes you a living”, so shut up and get back to work.
I have followed my Dad’s “advice” for the past 45 years.
That is the primary reason I hate Liberals. They think I owe them a living.
The real trick is getting the GOP to nominate someone who isn't a RINO.
Nixon won 52% of the 18 to 29 year old vote in 1972.
In 1968 the Democrats won 47% of the (21) to 29 year old vote, in 1972, they won 46% of the 18 to 29 age group, in 1976, after Watergate, and with the weak, moderate (and under suspicion) Ford, against what appeared to be a social conservative Democrat with a strong military back ground, the Democrats picked up 51% of the 18 to 29 year old vote.
In 1980 Democrats got 44% of that age group, 1984-40%, 1988-47%.
It wasn't until 1992 that the age group became a Democrat voter group, George W. did get 46% and 45% though.
The 66% that Obama won, is unprecedented and doesn't bode well for the future.
The story of the 2012 election will be those who DIDN’T turn out to vote....the thrill is gone....
I doubt that half of that unprecedented number of yutes will be interested to vote in 2012. There are plenty of college grads from 2008 to present that can’t find a job and living at home.
My dad was either studying or teaching a book called “Democracy and Totalitarianism.” I remarked that I thought communism sounded okay to me (no doubt thinking about the easy money I’d get out of others). My dad pooled my allowance with my sister’s and split it evenly between us. Now I was older and had more chores than my sister and more allowance. Talk about sudden enlightenment!
Me too, only I got my first chance to be heartless in 1984. Unless you count 1976 when my middle school held a mock election, and I voted for Ford, instead of Carter.
Yep, softer turn out, some shift in percentage points, and the same in the next higher age group, and Obama will not reach 50%+1.
Well, I’m a Canadian, so couldn’t vote for any American, let alone a decent one. But I went through the stereotypical brain dead liberal years. I credit Reagan, and the media’s coverage of him, with my move back to the right, where my parents were and where I belonged. But the rebellious teenaged years coupled with leftwing peers in college (journalism, LOL), slowed me down by a couple of decades.
Now, I exploit the media for my own enrichment, while being politically active on the right.
Cheers,
Jim
