Anders Behring Breivik character does not fit a mass murderer.
Anders Behring Breivik's comments | Me

He loved the free market and what I find really odd was his writings he is always polite and courteous. Has anyone that was out to kill masses of people ever been polite and courteous?

Breivik gives no signs of taking the law into his own hands or anything close to it in any of his writings.

The only action he wanted to take in these writings was getting his message out through publication.

Anders Behring Breivik writings

Here is a quote from Breivik: “National Socialism has always been an extreme left ideology then why are they trying constantly to strategically place it on the right side? If you hate capitalism and the free market, such as Marxists, Nazis and Islamists do, attained the left side, period.”
He quotes the web sites “Gates of Vienna”, “Jihad Watch”, Littlegreenfootballs.com, Danelpipes.org, Global Politician, atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com. If anyone on this site thinks these sites are fringe sites you are in the wrong place.

Breivik would have to change a great deal in a year in order to walk in the shoes of John Brown or Timothy McVeigh believing his actions would spark a revolt.
Both McVeigh and Brown had no quorums of stating their actions before they did them. He gave no indication what so ever he crossed the line.

Yeah he was a Mason but they are not murderers.

Anders Behring Breivik character does not fit a mass murderer.

A person may want to sound sane, rational and a good old bloke on a public forum while he is accumulating several tons of nitrate fertilizer.

I will play devil’s advocate for a bit. What connections does Soros have to Norway?

McVeigh wasn't the unabomber. I mean he probably didn't look crazy from a distance. Would McVeigh's writings have been thought crazy by somebody who accepted some of the same presumptions?

What caught my eye in the first section:

It would be a pity if you ignored the suggestions and decided to squandered all the money in a potentially "politically correct" person with a background in the Marxist boot camp: Volda University College or any other journalist (Marxist) camps, etc.

I don't know what it means exactly, but possibly he thought he'd found a "Marxist boot camp" for young people.

Thanks for the info. I’d always thought that was an urban legend.

What the Norwegian govt. claims happened is so close to impossible that I assume they are lying. Assuming he was firing on full auto with a submachinegun of some sort, he’d have needed eight or ten magazines to kill that many people and he’d have needed them all to stand still while all that was going on. I assume more than one shooter was involved.

Wow the internet really bring out the crazies. There are so many people worried about what label will be put on this crazy, that they are willing to deny reality and invoke conspiracies in an attempt to save face. Folks... crazies and ideologues come in all shades ... like it or not.

This is just slightly related, but I thought it was interesting.

This article says He was equipped, the police said, with an automatic rifle and a handgun; when the police finally got to the island, about 40 minutes after the shooting started, Mr. Breivik surrendered when they called out to him, dropping his weapons.

And yet, this article says Several victims "had pretended as if they were dead to survive," the 21-year-old said. But after shooting the victims with one gun, the gunman shot them again in the head with a shotgun, he said.

And this article says the shooting lasted an hour and a half. An earlier article says it lasted for 40 minutes. That's quite a discrepancy.

Mike Savage yesterday hinted it might be a setup or at least that is way he sounded to me.

I will reserve judgement.....

Something isn't adding up here. A set-up is as good a working theory as any other, at the moment.

Thanks for the confirmation. I don’t know if that’s an explanation for all the crazy involved here, nor could it ever be conclusively proven even in the Texas case. But I’m like a lot of people on here, wondering what could explain this. I expect the next couple of weeks will have new stories related to it appearing every day.

Mental disease is a terrible thing. It silently attacks the brain, and in many cases no one notices that a man’s mind is gone until it’s too late. The brain scans of men and women like this often show areas of massive destruction. That’s why their thinking is completely distorted.

And witnesses swear that the DC shooter was in a white van.

I spent 3 hours discussing an emergency part replacement earlier this week - in the fog of the hustle, all thought it was in a facility 15 miles away. It ended up being in Germany.

The point is that in rapidly moving situations with multiple chains of assessment, observation and work going on in parallel tracks, initial information is often very unreliable.

Agreed...he must have had a bag with multiple magazines. The only thing I can figure is that he must have cornered a large number of victims and fired at them from far enough away that they couldn’t just run by him. This would also make sense when you think about many trying to swim for it and some being shot in the water. I have no doubt that anybody who would think it through enough to use a huge bomb as a diversion would have accumulated many mags and a bunch of ammo.
