Let me just dive right in and I'll make a very long story short. My Sister is the type of person who will smile as she is twisting the knife in your back. I have tried to be a good brother and have a relationship with her but, each time I do she does something horrible to me.
In spring of 2009, she decided she hated my Wife and called CPS on us stating that our daughter (3 years old at the time) had a speech problem and we were doing nothing about it. So the CPS woman came over with a sidekick (I guess a Trainee) and went through our house.
When she got to my Son's closet she gasped and said "Where are all his clothes?" I reached over and thumbed through the 15 pairs of pants, 12 shirts and endless amounts of underwear and socks and said "Well, how much clean cloths does one boy need?" She said nothing and with no expression on her face she turned and went into my Daughters room. When entering my Daughters room, she gasped once again and said "What happened to her bed!" I stated "It's a Toddler bed conversion. There very common."
She again said nothing and with no emotion or expression raided the rest of the house and sat down with us and said there were allegations of medical neglect due to our daughter having a speech disorder and us not doing anything about it. We were surprised as you could imagine. She insisted that we get her checked out right away. So we agreed and she left.
We immediatly scheduled an appointment with a local elementary school to get her tested. A week later we went in for the test and our daughter was interviewed and tested for everything from speech and motor skills over the coarse of about a 90 minute time frame after which, they told us her speech was fine but, they thought she could benefit from motor skills training.
So, we left and I called the CPS worker. She did not answer any of my calls whatsoever. I tried repeatedly for 2 weeks to get ahold of her and heard nothing. So we figured it was done. A year later... let me repeat 1 full year later, the CPS woman shows up at our door demanding proof that we had her tested. After a year I was going to have to look around for the documents so she left stating that we better have them to her by 5pm period.
So we searched and called her with the info. I called her again several times and did not hear from her till 3 days later. When she called she said " I am closing this case but filing it under Medical Neglect and handing it over to Law enforcement! and oh, by they way I know you beat your wife and I will be watching you. I have called everyone and if you miss one appointment or she misses any school for any reason, I will know about it and I will open up an new case right away!" I was blown away.
I have never hurt so much as a fly all my life and I invited her to talk with my Wife if she thought otherwise. She stated "Oh, it wouldn't do any good because she is too scared to tell me anything." I felt like I was in the twilight zone. We are fantastic parents, we go to church, have voluntarily gone to all of our churches parenting classes just so we could be the best parents we could be. We don't spank our kids, our kids are very well behaved, we get compliments all the time, we read to our kids and have nearly every Dr. Suess book there is, we take our kids to the park 2 to 3 times a week, we take them to the YMCA 2-3 times a week, we are very involved in their education, they get all theie medical needs met, we don't miss any doctor appointments or dentist appointments and the list goes on and on.
This CPS woman said that because we waited 2 months to get her into school 4 days after she turned 4 years old, that she was calling that Medical Neglect. We were never told that we had to or else! We were never told we had no choice as her parents! We were taking her to classes at church and we were doing a home preschool. This CPS woman seems hell bent to hang us and there is nothing we can do. We have a court date and we are fighting this but, it sure has taken a lot of wasted time and energy from us that we would rather be spending with our kids. I should have invited the CPS worker to one of the 6 camping trips we went on so far this summer as a family. They were a blast and we had fantastic quality time with our kids!
I am convinced there is no one on earth that loves their kids more, or does more for them then we do. The harassment by CPS to us has been appaling! And this torture is going on and on. By the time we are done we will have been at this for 2 years! . Any help, prayers, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Our trial is in less then 6 months in January. Thank you

Just out of curiosity, why did you let her search your house? Did she have a warrant?
If you were homeschooling I’d tell you to go join HSLDA but in any case you need either a lawyer or to leave the state. Seriously. That kind of thing is going to follow you but CPS has terrible interstate communication. What state are you in anyway?
Never let those people into your home without a warrant. They have no authority to come in if you don’t let them.
If you can prove your sister acted in a malicious fashion, you might be able to sue her for defamation of character once this is over with.
I was sort of hoping that with all the economic troubles we have, people in CPS would be laid off.

CPS: (knock knock knock)
Me: (opens door) Hello?
CPS: I'm with the CPS and I'm here to....
Me: (interrupts) Oh hey cool! Glad you are here. I need to do something and I will be right back. (close door).
Me: (returns, open door, videotape machine recording, in hand) Now, what can I do for you?
CPS: I need entry to your home to look at your children.
Me: Do you have a warrant that permits you to demand entry to my home?
CPS: No.
Me: Then I will have to demand that you evactuate the property immediately. I need to contact my attorney so as to enforce this, should you decline. Bye now. (Close door) (contact attorney)
Your sister has a borderline personality disorder. Psychiatrists hate to deal with them. These people either love you or hate you and you don’t have to do much to be on the receiving end of their subterfuge when they are in their ‘hate’ mode.
Your best bet is to keep away from her. Even then, she will be doing her best to find out what she can about you and yours in order to come up with something to hurt you with.
Getting CPS involved is sickening. You should probably get a lawyer and get some kind of restraining order in regard to your sister. Then show that to the CPS every time they show up, and have a lawyer contact CPS with your proof of ‘compliance, plus a documented history on your sister.
It’s worse than a warrant. They had to identify everything in the house that has the potential to harm a child or proof that the parents are withholding food, etc.
Oh! Sorry about that.
I have some advice and it comes from experience.
Move! Move out of state right now. Your family is more important than any job or network of friends. Your kids are in the CPS target zone and those people are drunk with power and persistent.
Cut off your sister. Just move away and cut any ties you have with her. She will continue to cause you grief and, if she is like mine, it will only escalate.
LOL! I’ve made the same mistake in the past. Hoo-boy!
Next time please make sure and state in the first line that you are quoting from another source. It really makes it easier for the rest of us to know it isn’t you who is being victimized.

I wonder what the whole truth is here. cps workers are generally inert sloths who prefer to ignore calls regarding actual abuse. i know from experience.
The best thing to do when confronted by CPS is to lawyer up right away with the RIGHT lawyer, one that will actually tell you what rights you have (you have a hell of a lot more than you probably think) and that you are under no obligation to cooperate, meet with, or provide any information to CPS anymore than any other quasi-law enforcement agency (be careful many lawyers actually work cases for CPS and will lie to you and tell you that you have no rights and must cooperate). Then any time you are contacted by CPS, you say nothing and refer them to your lawyer. If they want to set up a meeting, tell them only with your lawyer present and all meetings will be recorded. If they come to your door, send them away. If they call you, record the call (if legal in your state) many times they will make false threats that you can use against them if it ever goes to court.
