My original response to McLame’s name calling was that I'd rather be a free Hobbit standing on my own 2 feet fighting evil than an Orc serving the Dark Lord on my knees in Mordor(Washington DC).

Ironicly, hobbits may be the perfect analogy for tea partiers.
Small, insignificant, beings that nobody took seriously (kind of reminds you of how the political elite look down upon middle America), they were also wished harm upon noone, were friendly to everyone, true and honest, and were the only beings that could resist the the ring and remain uncorrupted by its power.

the Ring is destroyed and the world is saved. By the Hobbits! I know that they were trying to make it seem that the Tea Partiers (and those of us who agree with the movement) are somehow too "small" to be able to handle the complexity of these issues. But it was the purity of heart of these Hobbits, and their perseverence which saved the rest of their world from the destructive evil of Sauron.
I'll stand with the Hobbits any day.
