London Burning: Something Wicked This Way Comes?
Grand Rants ^ | 08-09-11 | Gerry Ashley

Posted on 08/09/2011 10:11:15 AM PDT by Stoutcat

London is burning. Following the shooting death (by police) of a young black man suspected of being a gang member, thugs and looters have taken to the streets en masse, baring the ugly side of humanity by employing random violence throughout the Tottenham area in North London. On some streets, not a single business has been left un-looted.

In some ways, it’s not unlike similar riots we have seen here in America: A police action against a minority that is seen as questionable (or, in the eyes of the minority community, racially motivated). And before all the facts are uncovered, a few members in that minority community rush to judgement and take matters into their own hands. The result? Rioting, looting, and unfortunately, casualties.

But there is a difference in London’s rioting; and I fear it may be a harbinger of something far darker. And I fear even more that it may well spread world-wide, including here in America. Call it the perfect storm of societal breakdown. And it crosses all racial, ethnic, and religious lines.

Feeding my fear is that, even as I write this, the rioting is now spreading, not just to other parts of London, but also to other cities in England as reported in the Christian Science Monitor… including Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Liverpool, Oxford and Reading… all cities that have no direct connection with the shooting incident.

That raises the question: At this point, is the rioting just about the shooting? Or has society simply reached a flash point where thugs (regardless of background) are becoming so brazen they are taking the attitude of ‘Let’s just do it! There ain’t enough cops to stop us all”...

What kind of stoppin power does the Kel-Tec have?

Pretty fair with a brain shot. I suggest using full metal jacket bullets since the .380 muzzle velocity is pretty low and it won't produce much hydrostatic shock. Go for penetration instead. Through the skull, through the brain.

My wife has the Ruger LCP which is pretty much a clone of the Kel-Tec. I would have chosen the K-T but she's a Ruger fan.

The media wants this kind of chaos because:

1. People tune in and the chatty goofballs get noticed.
2. They are on the side of the looters.
3. They are on the side of baraq.
4. They wish they were out in the streets with their black flags and red banners.
5. They don’t this will affect them and they will get to be observers of the riots.

They have forgotten the lesson of Cairo and the cute female “journalist” in among the feral humans. They also don’t think that all this chaos will affect them.
When their newpaper or tv station is firebombed and they are out of work, what then? Think baraq will save them? Only until he doesn’t need them anymore.

usefull idiots.

Don't wait until the river is rising up to buy your flood insurance.

You may be right... it might just be the catalyst that gives them what THEY see as the right to loot, plunder and rob whatever they want... and feel justified in doing so.

I’m in Arizona. No permit required for carry. I don’t expect to see any mass riots here...

“It’s hard to believe that the rioting was ever about the shooting. Maybe the shooting was an excuse in the demented minds of these youth gangs.”

Totally correct.

During the Watts riots, I was going to school in the San Fernando Valley. The blacks at our school felt it was their duty to “participate” in doing the same at our school. We girls wore our gym shorts under our dresses, (this was before you could wear pants to school) so that we could jump a fence if we needed to.

It is ALWAYS about an excuse, don’t listen to the liars of the MSM.

No permit required for carry.

I like that best. In Alaska it was, if you can legally own the gun, you can carry it concealed.

These “thugs” don’t want to try a forced entry into my house. It’s protected by God and Smith and Wesson.

I'm thinking about the rioting in France a few years ago. That started when police pursued a Muslim youth, and he hid from them in a high voltage power substation and electrocuted himself. The youths took to the streets and set cars on fire night after night outside of Paris.

I guess there was no bleeding at the Wisconsin State Fair.

There was. The MSM was afraid to hype the story just days before the Republican recall elections today, for fear of turning the voters against Democrats.

Not debating? Sounds like you are stating an opinion, annointing it as the truth and don’t wish to have to defend it.

The way our society works is that when crimes are committed, the police respond, NOT the public. That’s what has always separated the United States from 3rd world countries where they employ the “Might Makes Right” scenario... which is exactly what the rioters are trying to inflict upon the locals in the communities they ravage.

To disqualify the police from being part of the solution, would be to cave to the rule of the rioters.

If the police are outnumbered, then it’s time to call in the National Guard. That doesn’t “make the citizens the enemy” as you claim. The enemy is still the rioters. And the required solution is still the same: Stop them at all costs. THEY are breaking down society and the DECENT, LAW ABIDING CITIZENS deserve no less than protection. It’s been done before. And it works.

The one thing you NEVER do is capitulate with law-breakers or you have given up your freedom from intimidation and the looters will only become more emboldened.

I do believe that business owners have a right to defend their stores from looters and I believe that a well-armed proprietor is one who stands a good chance of defending his property. I believe individials should be allowed to arm themselves so they can fight back from home invasions.

But I don’t think you can leave it to locals to be their own vigilante patrols, especially when other law-enforcement is available. Otherwise, that would lead to anarchy.

The previous is MY statement of opinion. I am not annointing it to be the truth and welcome debate.

Yep, I remember those riots in France.

And the MSM dutifully did NOT report that they were Muslim rioters. They left the impression that disaffected youth named Jean-Pierre and Yves were rioting.

In the Paris riots, the police didn't kill anyone; they were just chasing someone who was eluding them. But the community acted as if the cops shot the kid in the back.

Afterwards, the apologists tried to blame the police for not being sensitive to the boy's cultural distrust of authority, and that they should have let him go instead of enforcing the law - "their" law.

The government created a monster with welfare, affirmative action and LBJs war on poverty. This monster has a large appatite and needs fed more and more.
Now there is no more cash to feed this beast, and it is going to go wild.
Who is surprised it hasnt happened sooner?
